Case Presentation of Two Cases Showing Complete Transposition of Maxillary Canine and 1st Premolar

Tooth transposition refers to the positional change of adjacent teeth, predominantly observed in the maxillary canines, especially between the maxillary canine and first premolar. Treatment options include interceptive orthodontic treatment, extraction of one of the transposed tooth followed by space closure, correction of the transposed tooth sequence, or acceptance and arrangement of the transposed teeth. Two case reports, first treated with interceptive treatment, second with arrangement of the transposed teeth are introduced in this article along with rationale and clinical consideration factors to facilitate the treatment.
