중국 학령후기 아동이 지각한 어머니의 과보호와 학교적응 간의 관계: 아동의 기본심리욕구 만족 및 좌절의 이중 매개효과

The Relationship Between Maternal Overprotection and School Adjustment Among Chinese Late School-age Children: The Dual Mediating Effects of Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction and Frustration

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 중국 학령후기 아동이 지각한 어머니의 과보호와 아동의 학교적응 간의 관계에서 기본심리욕구 만족 및 좌절의 이중 매개효과를 밝히는 것이다. 연구방법: 연구대상은 중국 R시 소재 초등학교에 재학 중인 5∼6학년 아동 329명이다. 수집된 자료 분석은 SPSS 25.0 통계프로그램을 사용하였으며, Pearson의 상관관계 분석과 Process macro (Model 4)의 매개분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 학령후기 중국 아동이 지각한 어머니의 과보호, 기본심리욕구 만족 및 좌절, 학교적응 간에는 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 과보호와 학령후기 아동의 학교적응 간의 관계에서 기본심리욕구 만족과 좌절의 이중 매개효과를 분석한 결과 기본심리욕구 만족은 부분 매개하는 반면, 욕구좌절은 매개하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 본 연구는 중국 학령후기 아동을 대상으로, 아동의 학교적응에 있어 어머니의 과보호와 아동의 기본심리욕구 만족이 중요한 요인이며, 어머니의 과보호와 아동의 학교적응 간의 관계에서 기본심리욕구 만족 및 좌절의 서로 다른 매개 경로를 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Objective: This study examines the dual mediating effects of basic psychological needs satisfaction and frustration on the relationship between maternal overprotection as perceived by Chinese late school-age children and their school adjustment. Methods: The subjects encompassed 329 fifth to sixth grade children in city R, China. Pearson correlation and mediation analyses were performed on the collected data using Process macro (Model 4) in SPSS 25.0Results: First all major variables showed significant correlations with each other. Second, the analysis of the dual mediating effects revealed that the satisfaction of basic psychological needs mediated the relationship between maternal overprotection and school adjustment whereas frustration did not. Conclusions: Maternal overprotection and children's basic psychological needs are important in Chinese children’s school adjustment. Basic psychological needs satisfaction and frustration emerged as different mediating paths in the relationship between maternal overprotection and children's school adjustment.
