중학생의 패배감이 자살생각에 미치는 영향: 우울과 적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 조절된 매개효과

The Influence of Defeat on Suicidal Ideation among Middle School Students: The Moderated Mediating Effect of Depression and Adaptive Cognitive Emotion Regulation

연구목적: 본 연구는 중학생의 패배감과 자살생각의 관계에서 우울의 매개효과와 적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 조절된 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구방법: 중학교 1~3학년 청소년 256명에게 온라인 자기 보고식 질문지를 배포하여 조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석에는 SPSS 27.0과 Process Macro를 활용하여 기술통계치와 Pearson 적률상관계수를 산출하고, Process Macro의 Model 4와 14를 통해 우울의 매개효과와 적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 조절된 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 중학생의 패배감이 자살생각에 미치는 영향이 우울에 의해 매개되는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 패배감이 우울을 통해 자살생각에 미치는 영향이 적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 수준에 따라 다른 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 이상의 연구 결과는 중학생의 자살생각을 예방하기 위해서는 중학생들이 처한 상황을 사회적 실패로 여기는 경향을 감소시키고, 패배를 감지하더라도 우울로 이어질 가능성을 낮추는 개입이 필요하며, 패배감으로 우울을 느끼는 경우 이에 대해 인지적으로 대처하여 정서를 조절하도록 돕는 것이 효과적인 중재가 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

Objective: This study examined the mediating effect of depression in the relationship between defeat and suicidal ideation among middle school students and the moderated mediating effect of adaptive cognitive emotion regulation. Methods: The study participants were middle school students in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gyeongbuk. The data were collected using online self-report questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 27.0 and Process Macro software. Results: First, depression mediated the effect of middle school students’ defeat on suicidal ideation. Second, there was a significant moderated mediating effect in which the effect of defeat on suicidal ideation through depression depended on the level of adaptive cognitive emotion regulation. Conclusions: To prevent suicidal ideation in middle school students, it is necessary to alleviate their irrational sense of defeat and reduce the possibility of defeat leading to depression. In addition, if middle school students are depressed due to their sense of defeat, helping them control their emotions in a cognitive way can be an effective intervention for suicidal ideation.
