The Korean the Child Development Inventory for Infant(K-CDIinfant) is a developmental screening test for child development in the birth to 24 months range. K-CDIinfant assesses child developmental functioning in the areas of social, self-help, gross motor, fine motor, expressive language, language comprehension, and general development, as well as various symptoms and behavior problems. Participants were recruited from childcare centers and private clinics. 755 infants and their mothers from 6 locations nationwide participated in this study. Through the analysis of the item response rate of 138 items in 6 developmental aspects, a new norm was formed. Reliability determined by internal consistency was relatively high (Cronbach’s ɑ = .97). Inter-correlations among sub-scales indicated construct validity(range: .76- .96), and the correlation between K-CDIinfant and DEP supported concurrent validity. In conclusion, the Korean Child Development Inventory for Infants suggests the foundation for the educational plan and intervention as a useful tool for assessing infant development.
