초기 성인기 남녀의 불안정 성인애착과 정서조절곤란이 경계선 성격특성에 미치는 영향: 정신화의 조절된 매개효과

The Impact of Insecure Adult Attachment and Emotional Dysregulation on Borderline Personality Traits in Men and Women in Early Adulthood: The Moderated Mediating Effect of Mentalization

본 연구는 초기 성인기 남녀의 불안정 성인애착과 경계선 성격특성의 관계에서 정서조절곤란의 매개효과를 살펴보고, 이 경로를 정신화가 조절하는지 검증하였다. 이를 위해 만 18세∼40세 성인 남녀를 대상으로 온라인 설문 조사를 하고 총 329부의 자료를 얻어 SPSS 21.0과 SPSS Macro를 사용하여 조절된 매개모형 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 불안정 성인애착의 하위 유형을 나누어 매개효과를 검정한 결과, 불안애착과 경계선 성격특성의 관계에서 정서조절곤란은 부분 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 회피애착과 경계선 성격특성의 관계에서 정서조절곤란은 완전 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 정서조절곤란과 경계선 성격특성의 관계에서 정신화의 조절효과를 확인하였다. 셋째, 불안정 성인애착이 정서조절곤란을 매개로 경계선 성격특성에 영향을 미치는 경로를 정신화가 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 불안정 성인애착으로 인한 경계선 성격특성 문제에 개입하기 위해 정서조절 능력을 높이는 것이 중요하며, 이를 위해 정신화 수준을 높이는 것이 효과적임을 의미한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 및 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 논의하였다.

This study examined the mediating effect of emotional dysregulation in the relationship between insecure adult attachment and borderline personality traits, as well as the moderated mediation effect of mentalization. An online survey was conducted with 329 adults aged 18 to 40, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and the SPSS Macro. The results are as follows. First, emotional dysregulation partially mediated the relationship between anxious attachment and borderline personality traits and fully mediated the relationship between avoidant attachment and borderline personality traits. Second, mentalization moderated the relationship between insecure adult attachment and borderline personality traits. Third, mentalization moderated the pathway through which insecure adult attachment affects borderline personality traits via emotional dysregulation. These findings suggest that higher lelves of mentalization can mitigate the impact of insecure attachment on borderline personality traits through reduced emotional dysregulation. The significance, limitations, and future research directions were discussed.
