발달장애아동의 사회성 증진을 위한 로봇 중재의 국외 연구 동향 고찰

A Review of the Literature on Research Trends in Robot-Assisted Interventions for Enhancing Social Skills in Children with Developmental Disabilities

본 연구는 발달장애아동에게 로봇을 활용하여 사회성 기술 지원에 대한 국외 실험연구를 분석하여 연구의 동향과 중재의 특성에 대해 알아보는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 본 문헌 분석을 위하여 2013년부터 2024년까지 국외에 발표된 논문들 중 문헌분석 선정 기준에 따라 선정된 총 16편의 논문에 대한 전반적인 연구 동향 및 로봇을 활용한 사회성 기술 지원에 대한 중재의 특성에 대하여 분석하였다. 문헌분석 결과 첫째, 연구 참여자의 장애 유형은 자폐성장애 아동이 가장 많았다. 둘째, 로봇을 활용한 중재는 치료실 환경에서 가장 많이 진행되었고, 로봇이 주 중재의 수단으로 많이 사용되었다. 또한, 연구에서 가장 많이 사용된 로봇으로는 휴머노이드 로봇이었으며, 로봇 중재의 연구자가 중재자가 되어 단독으로 진행하는 연구가 가장 많았다. 셋째, 로봇을 활용한 중재의 종속변인은 사회적 행동이 가장 많았다. 이러한 결과를 통해 발달장애아동을 위한 로봇 활용 중재를 통한 사회성 기술 지원에 대한 논의 및 향후 연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze international experimental studies on the us e of robots to support social skills in children with developmental disabilities, focusing on research trends and the characteristics of interventions. For this literature review, a total of 16 papers published internationally between 2013 and 2024 were selected bas ed on the literature review selection criteria and analyzed for overall research trends a nd the characteristics of robot-assisted social skills interventions. The results of this study are as follows. First, the majority of study participants were children with autis m spectrum disorder. Second, interventions utilizing robots were most frequently cond ucted in therapeutic settings, with robots as the primary intervention tool. Furthermor e, humanoid robots were the most commonly used robots in these studies. Additionall y, studies were predominantly conducted by researchers who also served as intervent ionists. Third, the most common dependent variable in these robot-assisted interventio ns was social behavior. Based on these findings, the study discusses the implications of robot-assisted interventions for supporting social skills in children with developmen tal disabilities and provides suggestions for future research.
