중학생의 사이버불링에 대한 학교상담사의 대처 경험과 성장에 관한 연구

School Counselors' Experiences and Growth in Responding to Cyberbullying among Middle School Students

본 연구의 목적은 중학생의 사이버불링에 대한 학교상담사의 대처 경험과 그에 따른 성장을 심층적으로 탐색해 보는 것이다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 사이버불링에 대한 대처 경험이 있는 학교상담사 20명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 원자료는 지속적인 비교 방법을 사용하여 개념화하고 범주화하였다. 본 연구에서는 근거이론의 방법을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 개방 코딩을 실시한 결과 79개의 개념, 21개의 하위 범주, 9개의 범주를 도출하여 패러다임 모형으로 배열하였다. 중학생의 사이버불링에 대해 학교상담사가 겪는 중심 현상은 ‘위기 상황 직면’으로 ‘학교상담사의 역할 한계와 사이버공간의 낯섦 인식’이다. 분석 과정을 거쳐 연구 참여자들은 ‘사이버불링 상담 전문가로의 재탄생’, ‘사이버불링을 통한 학교상담사로의 성장’이라는 결과를 도출하였으며 범주들 간의 연관성을 확인하여 ‘성장 재탄생 완성형’, ‘체험 성장형’, ‘인프라 구축 재탄생형’, ‘성장 재탄생 미완성형’으로 연구 참여자를 분류했다. 중학생의 사이버불링에 대한 학교상담사의 대처 경험이 지니는 실질적인 특성과 실제 모습을 심층적으로 탐구하고 구체화하는 과정에서 사이버불링에 대한 대처를 위한 교육적⋅상담적 함의를 제공한다는 면에서 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to deeply explore the coping experiences of school counselors regarding cyberbullying among middle school students and their subsequent growth. To achieve this research objective, in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 school counselors who have experience in dealing with cyberbullying. The raw data was conceptualized and categorized using a continuous comparison method. In this study, data were analyzed using the method of grounded theory. As a result of open coding, 79 concepts, 21 subcategories, and 9 categories were derived and arranged in a paradigm model. The central phenomenon experienced by school counselors regarding cyberbullying among middle school students is ‘facing crisis situations,’ which includes ‘recognizing the limitations of the school counselor's role and the unfamiliarity of cyberspace.’ The analysis went through four stages, and the relationships between the categories were confirmed to classify participants into ‘complete rebirth growth type,’ ‘experiential growth type,’ ‘infrastructure-building rebirth type,’ and ‘incomplete rebirth growth type.’ This study is significant in that it provides educational and counseling implications for coping with cyberbullying by deeply exploring and concretizing the practical characteristics and actual appearances of school counselors' coping experiences with cyberbullying among middle school students.
