한족 중국인 유학생의 한국에서의 창업경험에 관한 질적연구

A Qualitative Study on the Entrepreneurial Experience of Han Chinese students in Korea

본 연구는 한국에서 창업한 한족 중국인 유학생들의 창업배경과 창업경험에 대해 살펴보고자 하였으며, 한국에서 창업경험이 있는 한족 중국인 유학생 세 명을 인터뷰하여 질적연구로 분석하였다. 연구결과 이들의 창업배경은 ‘외동자녀 아님’, ‘시장 통찰력’, ‘한국에 대한 애정과 고소득의 기회’, ‘사업을 하시는 부모님의 영향을 받음’ 등으로 나타났고, 창업 도전 과정은 ‘용기와 포기하지 않는 끈기’, ‘좋은 파트너’, ‘문제 해결을 위한 적극적 노력’ 등으로 나타났다. 창업 과정에서의 어려움은 ‘비자 및 법률적 어려움’, ‘문화 및 언어장벽’, ‘육체적∙정신적 한계’, ‘경쟁과 배신으로 나타났으며, 창업경험을 통한 의미와 성장은 ‘직원 교육의 중요성’, ‘나눔의 가치 발견’, ‘과소비에 대한 후회’, ‘창업 후 성장’ 등으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 다문화 사회로 나아가는 한국에서의 한족 중국인 유학생들의 독특한 창업 경험을 살펴보고, 향후 외국인들의 창업 활성화 촉진 및 관련정책과 제도의 개선을 촉구한다는 점에서 의의를 지니고 있다.

This study examines the motivation and experience of Han Chinese students who started a business in Korea. For this purpose, we interviewed three Han Chinese students who had experience starting a business in Korea with an investment visa and analyzed their experiences through narrative inquiry. As a result of the study, the background of Han Chinese students studying abroad to start a business were ‘not an only child’, ‘market insight’, ‘love for Korea and opportunity for high income’ and ‘being influenced by parents who run a business’, and the process of starting a business was revealed as ‘courage and persistence not to give up’, ‘good partner’, and ‘active efforts to solve problems’. Difficulties in the process of starting a business in Korea include ‘visa and legal difficulties,’ ‘cultural and language barriers,’ ‘physical and mental limitations,’ and ‘competition and betrayal.’ The meaning and growth through entrepreneurial experience include ‘the importance of employee education,’ and ‘discovering the value of sharing’, ‘regret over over-consumption’, and ‘growth after starting a business’. This study examined the unique entrepreneurship experiences of Han Chinese students in Korea, which is progressing toward becoming a multicultural society. It is significant as it promotes the activation of entrepreneurship among all foreigners and encourages the improvement of related policies and systems in the future.
