특성화고등학교 이주배경학생 진로교육 문제점의 요인 및 개선방안: 외국출생 외국국적 학생을 중심으로

Identifying Factors and Proposing Solutions for Career Education Challenges Faced by Migrant-background Students: A Focus on Foreign-born, Non-Korean Nationals in Specialized Vocational High Schools

본 연구는 특성화고등학교 이주배경학생의 진로교육과 관련된 문제점은 무엇인지 파악하고, 특성화고등학교 이주배경학생을 위한 효과적인 진로교육의 개선방안을 모색하고자 수행되었다. 연구목적을 위하여 5명의 특성화고등학교 교사와 5명의 현장전문가 등 총 10명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 특성화고등학교 이주배경학생의 진로와 관련된 문제점의 요인으로 2개의 범주와 6개의 주제가 도출되었다. 이주배경특성으로 인한 한계 요인의 범주에서 한국어부족, 체류자격문제, 문화 및 생활방식의 차이 등으로 인한 어려움의 주제가 나타났으며 교육환경의 요인 범주에서는 교사의 이해부족, 부모지원부족, 학교진로교육프로그램의 한계의 주제가 드러났다. 이러한 요인의 개선방안으로 역시 2개의 범주와 6개의 주제가 도출되었다. 이주배경특성 맞춤형 지원의 범주에서 맞춤형 한국어교육 강화, 체류자격 완화, 실용적 진로교육 강화의 주제가 도출되었고 교육환경 개선방안의 범주에서는 교사교육 및 연수 강화, 이주배경학생을 위한 전담인력 확충 및 진로교육 매뉴얼 개발, 취업 후 관리 및 모니터링 시스템 구축의 필요성의 주제가 드러났다. 본 연구는 분석 결과를 토대로 특성화고등학교 이주배경학생들의 진로교육을 위한 시사점과 대안을 제시하였다.

This study examines the current challenges and solutions in career education for migrant-background students in specialized vocational high schools in Korea. Based on in-depth interviews with five teachers and five experts, two key categories of limitations were identified: migrant-background characteristics and educational environment factors. The former includes difficulties arising from language barriers, residency restrictions, and cultural differences, while the latter encompasses inadequate teacher understanding, lack of parental support, and limitations in school programs. To address these, two improvement categories were proposed: support tailored to migrant-background characteristics-including customized Korean language education, easing residency requirements, and enhancing practical career preparation-and enhancements to the educational environment, such as strengthening teacher training, expanding dedicated personnel, and developing monitoring systems for post-employment management. These insights offer comprehensive strategies to improve career education for migrant-background students in vocational schools.
