무전공 외국인 학부생의 대학 생활 적응도, 참여도, 만족도 분석 연구 -한국어 중급과 고급 수준 학습자의 비교를 중심으로-

A Study on University Life adaptation, Participation, and Satisfaction of Non-major Foreign Undergraduate Students -Based on the comparison between intermediate and advanced Korean learners

본 연구에서는 국내 대학에서 유학 중인 무전공 외국인 학부생들이 한국어 수준에 따라 대학 생활 적응도, 참여도, 만족도가 어떠한 차이를 나타내는지를 밝히고자 한다. 이를 위해 국내 A대학교의 무전공 외국인 학부생 30명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 하였다. 전체적으로 한국어 고급 학습자는 중급 학습자보다 대학 생활 적응도와 참여도에서 더 높은 응답값을 보였으며 그 차이는 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 그리고 대학 생활 적응의 범주를 학업 적응, 언어 적응, 전공 준비, 개인 정서 적응, 사회 적응, 학업 지속 의지로 구분하였을 때 고급 학습자는 중급 학습자보다 언어 적응에서 대학 생활 적응도가 높았다. 아울러 대학 생활 참여의 범주를 수업 참여, 동아리 및 봉사활동 참여, 대인관계에서의 상호작용 참여로 구분하였을 때 고급 학습자는 중급 학습자보다 동아리 및 봉사활동, 대인관계에서의 상호작용에서 대학 생활 참여도가 높았다. 마지막으로 대학 생활 만족의 범주를 수업에 대한 만족, 학교 서비스에 대한 만족으로 구분하였을 때 대학 생활 만족도는 언어 수준에 따라 통계적으로 차이가 없었다. 본 연구에서는 한국어 수준이 대학 생활 적응과 참여에 영향을 줄 수 있음을 밝혔고, 무전공 외국인 학부생들이 보다 높은 한국어 능력을 갖추는 것이 국내 대학에서 적응하고 학업을 이수하는 데에 필요함을 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the differences in college life adaptation, participation, and satisfaction of non-major foreign undergraduate students studying at domestic universities according to their Korean level. To this end, the survey was conducted on 30 non-major foreign undergraduate students A University in Korea. Overall, advanced Korean learners showed higher response values in college life adaptation and participation than intermediate learners, and the differences were statistically significant. And when the subcategories of college life adaptation were divided into academic adaptation, language adaptation, major preparation, personal emotion adaptation, social adaptation, and willingness to continue studying, advanced learners had higher adaptability to college life in language adaptation than intermediate learners. In addition, when the subcategories of college life participation were divided into class participation, club and volunteer activities participation, and interaction in interpersonal relationships, advanced learners had higher participation in club and volunteer activities and interaction in interpersonal relationships than intermediate learners. Finally, when the subcategories of satisfaction with college life were divided into satisfaction with class and school service, there were no statistical differences in college life satisfaction according to Korean language level. It was revealed that the level of Korean can affect college life adaptation and participation. And it was suggested that non-major foreign undergraduate students have higher Korean proficiency to adapt and complete their studies at domestic universities.
