전문상담교사의 특수아상담 실제 능력 함양을 위한 제언

Suggestions for Professional Counselors to Cultivate Practical Skills for Specialized Child Counseling

본 연구는 전문상담교사의 특수아상담 인식을 탐색하고 전문성 확보를 위한 양성교육과정을 제안하는데 그 목적이 있다. 특수아상담은 전문상담교사 임용시험에 포함되지만 학부/교육대학원의 양성과정에서 이수해야 하는 필수과목은 아니다. 따라서 전문상담교사들 중 대다수가 특수아상담을 이수하지 않은 상태로 특수아상담 실무에 투입되고 있다. 즉 교과과정에서 특수아상담을 이수하지 않고서 특수학교에 배치되고 있는 전문상담교사가 증가하고 있는 것이다. 이제는 전문상담교사의 전문상담역량과 함께 특수아상담을 수행하기 위한 역량 탐색 및 이를 어떻게 함양시킬 수 있는지를 논해야 할 때이다. 이를 위해 첫째, 학교현장에서 사용되는 상담과 전문상담의 용어를 구분하여 정의하였다. 둘째, 전문상담과 특수아상담에서 상담의 개념을 비교하고 특수아상담이 전문상담에 포함될 수 있음을 제안하였다. 셋째, 학교상담을 받는 내담자의 유형 및 범위를 구분하여 제시하였다. 마지막으로 전문상담교사의 전문성을 함양할 수 있는 교육과정 방안을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 전문상담교사의 전문성 및 특수아상담의 실제와 관련하여 전문상담교사의 양성과정에 대한 방안을 모색하는 데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the attitude of specialized child counseling by school counseling teachers and to propose a curriculum for cultivating their professional skills. Counseling with exceptional children is a subject included in the professional counselor appointment test, but is not a subject that must be completed in a university course. In other words, some professional counselors are in a situation where they have to be in charge of specialized children counseling even though they have not completed this course in their curriculum. So far, previous studies have conducted investigations specifically exploring the competencies required for counseling specialized children along with the general competencies required for school counseling. However, now is the time to explore the competencies necessary for school counselors' counseling practice and also look at how these can be cultivated. To this end, first, the terms of counseling used in the school field and school counseling were defined separately. Second, while comparing the concepts of counseling in professional counseling and counseling with exceptional children, it was suggested that specialized child counseling is a type of professional counseling. Third, the types and scope of clients receiving school counseling were presented separately. Finally, a curriculum plan to cultivate their expertise was proposed. This study is meaningful in seeking ways for professional counseling teachers who conduct school counseling and their training process suitable for carrying out the practice of specialized child counseling.
