An Action Research on the Development of Environmental Education Program

이 글에서는 사진 찍기를 활용한 환경교육 프로그램 개발의 실행연구 과정을 시간과 사고의 추이에 따라 기술하였다. 사진 배우기, ‘환경 읽기’ 그리고 ‘동네에서 사진 찍기’ 동의 활동으로 구성된 환경교육 프로그램을 계획했다. 첫 번째 실행은 출석률과 참여 정도가 매우 낮았다. 이에 참여자들과의 대화, 공동 실행자와의 협의, 그간의 자료들을 바탕으로 문제점들을 파악하고 대안을 마련했다. 새로운 대안을 바탕으로 이루어진 두번째 실행은 첫 번째 수업에 비해 다 소 나아졌다. 이 과정에서 ‘동네에서 사진 찍기’는 환경교육적 의미를 지니며, ‘환경읽기‘를 통해 환경 문해를 길러 줄 수 있는 보다 전략적인 접근이 필요함을 알게 되었다. This paper presents a detailed description on the development of environmental education program through action research method. I devised a program with activities such as ’learning photographing’, ’reading then environment’, and 'photographing at village'. In the first implementation of the plan in non - formal settings, the rates of attendance and the degrees of participation were on low. Through reflection in action and on action, and discussion with a co-practitioner and participants, I identified some problems. I thus tried to search for the practical solutions of the problems and revised the initial plan. In the second implementation phase the situation was improved when compared to the first one. In the meantime I constructed the meaning of ’photographing at village’ as experience of environment through synaesthetic engagement. In relation to 'reacting the environment’ more strategic approaches might serve for participants to develop critical environmental literacy. The action research that I lived was reflexive becoming-process.
