그림책을 활용한 토의활동이 유아의 정서지능에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Discussion Activities Using Picturebooks on Young Children's Emotional Intelligence

본 연구는 그림책을 읽고 집단토의를 하는 교수활동을 통해 유아의 정서지능에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는가를 알아보고자, 서울 강남구에 위치한 만 5세 유아 60명을 대상으로 실험집단의 30명에게는 그림책을 활용한 토의활동을 실시하고, 비교집단의 30명에게는 같은 그림책을 읽어주기만 실시하였다. 연구결과 그림책을 활용한 토의활동의 여부의 집단간 차이는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였고, 실험집단에서 그림책을 활용한 토의활동을 실시하고 난 후의 정서지능은 토의활동을 하기 전보다 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was to find the effects of discussion acivities using picturebooks on young children`s Emotional Intelligence. The subjects were sixty 5-year-old children from H kindergarten in Seoul. The subjects were divided into experimental(N=30) and compare(N=30) groups. The Children of the experimental group participated in discussion activities using picturebooks and the children of the compare group read to picturebooks used by experimental group. The data collected were analyzed by SPSS program; Pearson`s correlation, t-test were also conducted. The results were as follows : Firstly, there were significant group difference in mean scores of emotional intelligence in three areas- emotional identification and expression(Ⅰ) emotional facilitation of thinking(Ⅱ) and regulation of emotion(Ⅳ)-the experimental group being higher than that of the compare group. but third area-utilization of emotional knowledge-wasn`t significant Secondly, in experimental group, there were significant difference emotional intelligence in only two areas, emotional identification and expression regulation of emotion post -test being higher than that of pre- test. This discussion acivities using picturebooks is effective for the improvement of young children`s emotional intelligence.
