본 연구는 유아교육기관 교육활동에 있어서 컴퓨터 그림이야기 책이 활용될 경우 인쇄그림이야기 책만큼 교육적인 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것인가를 알아보기 위하여 설계되었다. 5세 유아 40명을 대상으로 인쇄그림이야기책 활동 집단과 컴퓨터그림이야기책 활동 집단으로 무선배정하여 실험을 실시하였는데, 이야기 구성요소 검사에 있어서는 인쇄그림이야기책이 상대적으로 높은 결과를 나타냈으나 이야기 다시 말해보기 검사와 이야기 회상 그리기 검사에 있어서는 통계적으로 의의 있는 차이가 나타나지 않았다.
The purpose of this study was to discover if children`s responses to stories delivered by a computer are similar to children`s responses to stories read by a human reader. Story book reading to children has long been considered to be a predictor of later success in reading. Since reading to children is such an important event, it would be efficacious for teachers to spend as much time with this activity as possible. But teacher time is and always has been a precious and scarce commodity. The electronic storybook may be one tool that can simulate the read aloud story by a human reader. If the electronic story can serve to provide some of the elements derived from a human book reading experience, then time spent with these electronic stories can give children some building blocks that will aid in their acquisition of literacy. A posttest experimental group design was used to compare children`s responses to stories delivered by a computer and children`s responses to stories read by a human reader. The study employed a 2(picture storybook mode)×2(time) ANOVA with one between subjects factor (picture story book mode) and one within subjects factor (time). Participants were 40 six year olds, 20 boys and 20 girls. They were randomly assigned to a real aloud picture storybook group (20) and Computer picture storybook group(20). The findings of the study were as follows: 1. The young children`s ability in Story elements measures were different by each picture story book mode. 2. The young children`s ability in Story retelling evaluation were not different by each picture story book mode. 3. The young children`s ability in Drawing recall evaluation were not different by each picture story book mode.
