총체적 언어 관점에서의 큰책접근법: 이론적 고찰

A Study of Big Book Approach in a view of whole language

본 연구는 총체적 언어 관점에서 큰책접근법의 교수원리와 교수전략을 고찰 하고, 큰책접근법의 선행연구의 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 큰책접근법은 총체적 언어 철학에 근거하여 문학적으로 훌륭한 그림책을 사용한 언어교수방법이며, 큰책접근법을 경험한 유아들의 읽기능력 및 태도, 쓰기 능력 및 태도, 내용이해능력, 인쇄물의 개념형성 등에 효과적이었다. 따라서 유아기 언어학습 특히 문자언어학습의 효율적인 방법으로써 문학적으로 훌륭한 그림책을 사용한 큰책접근법의 적용을 제안한다.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the teaching principle, strategy and the effect on pre- studies of Big Book Approach. The results of this study are as follows: First, The Big Book Approach is a language teaching method based on the whole language philosophy. Second, The Big Book Approach shows an effective result of reading competence and attitude, writing competence and attitude, story comprehension competence, concept about print. The suggestion of this study is an application of the literature-based Big Book Approach which uses high qualified storybooks as children`s language teaching.
