유아문집 제작의 교육적 가치에 관한 논의

A Study of the Educational Value of Making Anthologies for Young Children

본 연구에서는 유아문집의 구성을 분석하고 교육적 가치를 고찰한 후 유아문집 제작에 있어서의 문제점에 대한 개선 방안을 모색함으로써 유아교육 현장에서 양질의 문집을 제작하는 데 필요한 기초 자료를 제공함을 목적으로 하였다. 연구결과. 유아문집의 세부 제목은 총 62개였고, 유형 별로는 ‘시작하는 글’이 4.7%, ‘개인 소개’가 19.8%, ‘문학작품’이 35.9%, ‘조형적 표현’이 3.7%, ‘창의적 표현’이 10.4%, ‘학습관련활동’이 7.6%, ‘편지글’이 3.4%, ‘부모의 글’이 9.3%, ‘기록남기기’가 3.5%, ‘마치는 글’이 1%를 차지하고 있었다. 그리고 유아문집 제작의 교육적 가치는 유아들의 아름답고 소중한 추억의 기록, 창의적인 표현 능력의 신장, 유아들의 성장 발달의 기쁨을 공유, 유아 언어교육의 정상화에 기여 등으로 나타났고 개선 방안으로는 반별 문집 제작의 권장, 연중 문학 작품 수집, 초보적 저널쓰기의 일상화 등이 제시되었다.

This study is aimed at offering basic ideas for the development of a good anthology for young children. The contents of various anthologies, consideration of early childhood educational values, and findings from previous research studies were used and analyzed. On the basis of the results, some ideas to improve the quality of an anthology of children are proposed. First, it is better to develop an anthology per class rather developing one per kindergarten, for individual class anthologies increase the amount of writing submissions per child. Second, it is better to collect various compositions of children within a class throughout the school year, instead of focusing on one season or period of the year, to increase the variety of subjects and ideas. Third, it is better to have children write daily journals to improve the quality of their works. Fourth, it is stressed that the focus of an anthology be on developing the creative mind and spirit of children instead of proper form.
