레오 리오니 그림책에 나타난 대화주의의 다성성

Polyphony of Dialogism in Leo Lionni's Picture Books

본 연구는 레오 리오니의 그림책에서 대화주의의 다성성이 어떻게 나타나는지를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 리오니의 그림책 12편을 연구 대상으로 선정하여 문학비평이론을 토대로 한 평론을 통해 다성성이 어떻게 드러나는지 살펴보았다. 연구 결과 첫째, 리오니의 그림책에서는 등장인물들이 자신만의 고유한 개성과 가치를 인식하고 주체적인 목소리를 내는 모습을 통해 다성성이 드러났다. 둘째, 리오니의 작품에서 다성성은 등장인물들이 타자의 목소리를 인식하고 존중해 주는 양상으로 구현되었다. 셋째, 리오니의 그림책에서 다성성은 주체와 타자의 목소리가 함께 하며 새로운 의미를 만들어내는 형상으로 표현되었다. 본 연구에서 드러난 리오니 그림책의 다성성이, 자유롭게 개인의 의견을 표현하고 다양한 목소리를 존중하며 관계와 소통을 강조하는 교육 환경을 고찰할 계기가 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study was to look into the polyphony of Dialogism expressed in Leo Lionni's picture books. For this purpose, 12 picture books of Leo Lionni were selected for a critical analysis. As a result, the polyphony in Leo Lionni's picture books can be summarized as follows. First, the polyphony in Leo Lionni's picture books is revealed through characters who recognize their individuality and speak out their own voices. Second, the polyphony in Leo Lionni's picture books is found through characters who respect other voices. Third, the polyphony in Leo Lionni's picture books is marked through characters who create new meanings in relationships with others. We look forward to this study giving readers an opportunity to consider the educational environment in which children can express their own opinion, respect various voices and enjoy relationships and communications with others.
