유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 원가정 모 애착 안정성과 어머니의 결혼 만족도의 관계: 아버지 공감 능력의 매개 효과

The relationship between fathers' maternal attachment stability in their family of origin and mothers' marital satisfaction : The mediating effect of fathers empathy

부부 간의 긍정적인 관계가 영유아의 행복에 중요한 기초가 되기 때문에, 본 연구에서는 부부 간의 긍정적인 관계를 직간접적으로 예측 가능한 어머니의 결혼 만족도에 영향을 미치는 변수들에 대해 조사하고자 한다. 구체적으로 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 원가정 모 애착 안정성, 어머니의 결혼 만족도, 아버지의 공감능력 간의 관계와 아버지의 원가정 모 애착 안정성과 어머니의 결혼 만족도 간의 관계에 대한 아버지의 공감 능력의 매개효과를 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 서울 및 경기도에 거주하고 있는 만 4, 5세 유아를 둔 부모 181쌍을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0 및 Process Macro 23.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 주요 결과를 살펴보면, 아버지의 원가정 모 애착 안정성, 어머니의 결혼 만족도, 아버지의 공감 능력은 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였다. 또한 아버지의 모 애착 안정성이 어머니의 결혼 만족도에 미치는 영향에서 아버지의 공감능력 중 인지적 공감능력에 속하는 관점 취하기의 매개 효과를 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 결혼 생활에서 어머니가 느끼는 만족감을 높이기 위하여 아버지의 공감 능력 향상이 중요함을 시사하며, 아버지의 공감능력을 향상시키기 위한 아버지 교육 프로그램 개발의 필요성을 강조한다.

Because positive marital relationships are the important basis of young children’s happiness, this study examined variables (in)directly predicting positive marital relationships. Specifically, it investigated the associations between fathers’ maternal attachment security in their family of origin, their empathy, and mothers’ marital satisfaction and the mediating effect of fathers’ empathy on the relationship between fathers’ maternal attachment security in their family of origin and mothers’ marital satisfaction. To this end, 181 pairs of parents with children aged 4-5 years who lived in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do were surveyed, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and Process Macro 23.0. As for the main results of the study, there were significant positive associations between fathers’ maternal attachment security in their family of origin, their empathy, and mothers’ marital satisfaction. This study confirmed the mediating effect of the fathers’ empathy on the relationship between fathers’ maternal attachment security in their family of origin and mothers’ marital satisfaction. The findings of the current study indicate that it is important to improve fathers’ empathy to elevate mothers’ marital satisfaction and emphasize the necessity of developing programs designed to enhance fathers’ empathy.
