반복적 그림책 읽기 활동이 유아의 읽기 동기 및 읽기 흥미도에 미치는 영향

Effect of Repeated Picture Book Reading Activity on Young Children's Reading Motivation and Reading Interests

본 연구의 목적은 반복적 그림책 읽기 활동이 유아의 읽기 동기 및 읽기 흥미도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 연구대상은 경북 P시에 위치한 사회경제적 수준이 비슷한 S어린이집과 G어린이집 만 4, 5세 유아 44명(실험집단 22명, 비교집단 22명)이다. 실험은 2019년 10월 7일부터 시작하여 11월30일까지 8주 동안 총 24회 실시하였다. 실험집단은 Morrow(2011)의 반복적 그림책 읽기 활동, 비교집단은 일반적 그림책 읽기 활동을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 반복적 그림책 읽기 활동은 유아의 읽기 동기 및 읽기 동기의 하위요인 자아효능감, 내면적 목적, 외면적 목적, 사회적 측면이 향상되었다. 둘째, 반복적 그림책 읽기 활동은 유아의 읽기 흥미도에 긍정적 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 반복적 그림책 읽기 활동은 유아의 읽기 동기 및 읽기 흥미도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 활동임을 교육적으로 시사하고 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of repetitive picture book reading activity on children"s reading motivation and reading interest. The subjects of this study were 44 children aged 4 and 5 (22 in the experimental group and 22 in the comparison group) at the S daycare center and G daycare center, located in P city, Gyeongsangbuk-do, with a similar socioeconomic level. The experiment was conducted 24 times in 8 weeks from October 7, 2019 to November 30, 2019. The experimental group performed the repetitive reading of picture books by Morrow (2011), and the comparison group performed a general picture book reading activity. The research results are as follows. First, the repetitive picture book reading activity improved the children"s reading motivation and sub-factors of self-efficacy, internal purpose, external purpose, and social aspect. Second, it was found that the repetitive picture book reading activity had a positive effect on the children"s reading interest. In conclusion, in terms of educational it is suggested that the repetitive picture book reading activity is an activity that has a positive effect on children"s reading motivation and reading interest.
