글 없는 그림책을 활용한 만 5세 유아 놀이경험 의미 : 이수지 작가 「여름이 온다」를 중심으로

Meaning of play experience for 5-year-old children using picture books without text : Focusing on “Summer is Coming” by Lee Su-ji

본 연구는 이수지 작가의 「여름이 온다」 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 만 5세 학급의 놀이경험을 살펴보고, 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 놀이경험 의미가 무엇인지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 만 5세 학급을 중심으로 「여름이 온다」 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 놀이 영상 촬영, 음성 녹음, 사진 촬영, 놀이 흔적, 연구 저널 등의 기록 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 「여름이 온다」 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 ‘글 없는 그림책 만들기’, ‘그리고(and)의 놀이 반복’, ‘글 없는 그림책 다시 읽어 내기’를 경험하는 것으로 나타났으며, 각각의 하위 범주로는 ‘그림책 장면 재구성하기’ 와 ‘이야기 짓기’, ‘노래 만들기, 옷 만들기, 화보 촬영, 패션쇼’ 그리고 ‘자유로운 신체표현’과 ‘무언극’으로 구체화되었다. 글 없는 그림책을 활용한 놀이경험이 갖는 의미로는 ‘시뮬라크르(simulacre)의 이미지 생성놀이’와 ‘내러티브의 욕구를 지닌 존재’, ‘음악적 창의성의 발현’ 과 ‘놀이의 무한한 확장’ 그리고 ‘신체화된 지각으로 다시 읽어 내기’와 ‘창조적 극놀이로 다시 읽어 내기’로 구조화 되었다. 나아가 글 없는 그림책은 ‘독특한 예술 장르’이자 ‘문학적 상상력의 매개체’ 그리고 ‘놀이 생성 매개체’로써 그 의미가 재고(再考)되어야 할 필요가 있음을 제안한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the play experience of a 5-year-old class using picture books without text by Sooji Lee's “Summer is Coming” and to find out what the meaning of the play experience using the picture book without words is. For this purpose, we analyzed recorded data such as play video shooting, audio recording, photo shooting, play traces, and research journals using the picture book without the words Summer Is Coming , focusing on the 5-year-old class. As a result of the study, it was found that they experienced ‘making a picture book without text’, ‘repetition of (and) play’, and ‘rereading the picture book without text’ using the picture book without words Summer is Coming . The categories were ‘reconstructing picture book scenes’, ‘story making’, ‘song making and clothing making’, photo shoot, ‘fashion show’, ‘free body expression’ and ‘pantomime’. In the meaning of the play experience using the picture book without text, ‘simulacre's image creation play’, ‘existence with narrative desire’, ‘expression of musical creativity’ and ‘infinite expansion of play’ and ‘embodied it’ were structured as ‘rereading through perception’ and ‘rereading through creative play’. Furthermore, the results suggest that the meaning of picture books without text needs to be reconsidered as a ‘unique art genre’, ‘a medium of literary imagination’ and ‘a medium of generating play’.
