지속가능발전교육 실천을 위한 미술과 수업 프로그램 개발

A Development of Art Education Program for Implementing Education for Sustainable Development

인간의 생활 터전인 자연환경 문제를 해결하기 위한 범지구적 노력의 차원으로 지속가능발전과 지속가능발전교육이 그 어느 때보다 중요한 시점이다. 본 연구에서는 지속가능발전교육 실천을 위한 미술과 수업 프로그램을 개발하고 그 교육적 효과를 알아보았다. 본 프로그램은 지속가능성 이슈에 대해 문제 인지하기, 문제의식 갖기, 창의적으로 문제 해결하기 과정을 거치며 이를 통해 책임과 실천, 감수성과 공감, 자연생태계 사랑, 통합적 사고, 협동 역량과 더불어 자연환경과 생태계를 아끼고 배려하는 마음을 가지도록 설계하였다. 경기도 소재 초등학교 6학년 학생 26명에게 프로그램을 실행한 결과 학생들은 환경문제의 심각성에 대해 더 깊이 인식하고 지구 환경에 관한 문제 의식을 심화할 수 있었다. 모둠별로 협동작품을 만드는 과정에서 환경문제의 복잡성에 대해 깨닫기 시작하며 지속가능발전이라는 더 넓은 가치 체계로 사고를 확장하는 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 미술을 매개로 사회적 책임감과 공동체 의식을 길러 지속가능발전에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

SD and ESD are more important than ever as part of global efforts to solve problems with the natural environment. In this study, art education program for implementing ESD is developed and investigated its educational effectiveness. This program goes through the process of recognizing sustainability issues, having awareness of the problem, and creatively solving problems. Through this, responsibility and action, sensitivity and empathy, love for the natural ecosystem, integrated thinking, and cooperative capabilities are developed. It is designed to be mindful and considerate of the natural environment and ecosystem. As a result of implementing the program on 26 sixth-grade students at an elementary school in Gyeonggi-do, the students were able to gain a deeper awareness of the seriousness of environmental problems and deepen their awareness of issues related to the global environment. Through this study, we will be able to contribute to SD by cultivating social responsibility and community spirit through art.
