유치원 교사의 다문화 교육용 그림책 선정에 대한 인식 유형 분석 : Q 방법론을 중심으로

Analysis of the Perception of Kindergarten Teachers on the Selection of Picture Books for Multicultural Education : Focusing on the Q Methodology

본 연구의 목적은 Q 방법론을 활용하여 유치원 교사의 다문화 교육용 그림책 선정에 대한 인식 유형과 유형별 특성을 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 유치원 교사 대상의 개방형 설문과 문헌분석을 통해 130개의 Q 모집단을 구성하였고, 그 중 33개의 Q 표본을 선정하였으며, 전남지역 유치원 교사 30명을 P 표본으로 하여 Q 표본 분류를 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유치원 교사의 다문화 교육용 그림책 선정에 대한 인식 유형은 4개 유형으로 유형별 설명력은 제1유형 44.05%, 제2유형 9.09%, 제3유형 6.79%, 제4유형 5.23%로 나타났다. 둘째, 4가지 인식 유형의 특성은 제1유형 ‘기관의 추천을 신뢰하는 편견 배제형’, 제2유형 ‘쟁점을 지양하는 친숙한 내용 추구형’, 제3유형 ‘소수자나 편견의 문제에 적극 참여형’, 제4유형 ‘문학성과 예술성 추구형’으로 분석되었다. 본 연구결과는 다문화 교육용 그림책 선정에 대한 유치원 교사의 인식을 토대로 한 교사교육 및 향후 그림책을 활용한 다 문화교육 방안을 모색하는 기초자료를 제공해줄 수 있을 것이다.

This study categorized the perception of kindergarten teachers about the selection criteria of picture books for multicultural education and analyzed the characteristics of each type using the Q methodology. For this purpose, 130 statements were constructed through preliminary research and open questionnaires for kindergarten teachers, and 33 Q samples were selected. 30 kindergarten teachers working in Jeollanam-do participated in Q sorting. As the results of the study, first, there were four types of perception for kindergarten teachers’ selection of picture books for multicultural education, and the explanatory power of each type was 44.05% for type 1, 9.09% for type 2, 6.79% for type 3, and 5.23% for type 4. Second, the type of perceptions of kindergarten teachers based on the selection criteria for multicultural education books are presented by 4 types named as follows: ‘Unbiased type that trusts the recommendation of an institution’, ‘Pursuing familiar content that avoids issues’, ‘Enthusiastically dealing with the problem of minorities and bias’, and ‘pursuing literary and artistic value’. The results of this study will be able to provide basic data for teacher education based on kindergarten teachers’ perception of the selection of picture books for multicultural education. and it will be possible to provide basic data for seeking multicultural education plans using picture books.
