유아교육기관에서 교사-유아 상호작용의 현상에 관한 질적연구

A Qualitative Study on the Reciprocal Actions Between Teachers and Children at Early Childhood Education Iinstitutions

본 연구는 유아교육 현장에서 이루어지는 교사-유아의 상호작용이 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지 그 현상을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 유치원 교사 8명으로 하였으며, 교사 면담을 통하여 자료를 수집하였고 면담내용은 학기초에서 학기말 그리고 등원에서부터 귀가까지 이루어지는 상호작용의 전반적인 분야로 하였다. 자료수집은 교사의 면담내용을 녹음하였고, 녹음내용을 전사한 후에 질적인 분석을 하였다. 연구결과, 전반적으로 유치원 교사들은 교사-유아 상호작용에 대해 교사 자신이 가지고 있는 한계점을 드러내는 현상을 보였다. 구체적으로 첫째, 교사들은 자신이 가지고 있는 교육철학과 동떨어진 상호작용에 대하여 딜레마를 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 교사 자신이 가지고 있는 지식과 교수실제와의 차이를 느끼고 있었다. 셋째, 교사들은 유아들의 마음을 이해하는 정서적인 지원을 하는데 한계를 느끼고 있었다. 결론적으로 유아교육의 질적 수준을 높이기 위하여 진정한 양방향적인 의사소통의 실현을 위한 다양한 지원과 교사의 융통적인 사고방식 함양을 위한 지원 그리고 사회・정서적 지원 또는 일상생활 지도를 위한 지원이 필요하며, 직전교육에서는 실천력있는 교사교육의 필요성에 대하여 논의하였다.

This particular study focuses on the reciprocal interactions between teachers and children at these aforementioned institutions. The test subjects were 8 kindergarten teachers, who were constantly monitored during their class time with young children. The recorded data was then analyzed qualitatively. This study revealed some limitations of the teachers (test subjects) in their interactions with young children. Firstly, the philosophical ideas of the teachers proved to be a dilemma in their interaction with young children. Secondly, the gap between theory and practical application became apparent. Thirdly, providing emotional support to their young children proved to be difficult. In conclusion, the necessary requirements to improve the quality of education are as follows : a) Providing aids for mutual communication between teachers and young children. b) Providing aids for developing the open-mindedness of teachers. c) Providing aids for effective development of the habits of young children and in-service training for teachers.
