그림책에 대한 유아 반응 연구들의 재분석

A Review of Researches on Children's Responses to Picture Books

본 연구는 1995년 이후부터 2010년까지 실행된 그림책에 대한 유아들의 반응 연구 49편을 대상으로 연구들의 관련 변인, 반응 수집 방법을 분석하고, 연구들이 분석한 반응 유형을 Sipe(2008)가 제시한 반응유형 분석틀에 기초하여 재분석하고, 재분석한 반응유형을 반응 수집 방법별에 따라 구분하여 정리한 것이다. 반응 관련 변인 분석은 텍스트, 환경, 유아로, 반응 수집 방법 분석은 ‘비구조적상황’, ‘구조적 상황’ ‘비구조적․구조적 상황’으로 구분하였고, 반응유형의 재분석은 Sipe가 제시한 5가지 반응유형(분석적 반응, 텍스트 융합적 반응, 개인적 반응, 몰입적 반응, 수행적 반응)에 기초하여 실행하였다. 분석 결과, 연구들이 설정한 반응 관련 변인은 ‘텍스트’가 가장 많았고, 반응 수집 방법으로는 ‘비구조적 상황’과 ‘구조적 상황’이 ‘비구조적․구조적 상황’보다 많이 활용되었다. 또 연구들의 반응유형을 재분석한 결과, ‘분석적 반응’이 재분석된 연구의 수가 가장 많았으며, ‘텍스트 융합적 반응’과 ‘수행적 반응’이 재분석된 연구는 적었다. 재분석된 반응유형을 반응 수집 방법별에 따라구분한 결과, ‘비구조적 상황’에서는 Sipe(2008)가 제시한 반응유형이 모두 재분석된 연구의 수가 많았으며, ‘구조적 상황’ 에서는 관련 연구 모두에서 ‘분석적 반응’이 재분석되었다. ‘비구조적․구조적상황’ 에서도 ‘분석적 반응’이 다른 반응유형에 비해 많이 나타났으나, 관련 연구의 수가 부족하였으므로 전체적인 경향을 파악하기는 어려웠다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 유아들로 하여금 다양한 유형의 반응을 유도할 수 있는 그림책 감상 전략 연구의 필요성을 시사한다.

This study reviewed 49 researches on children's responses to picture books, which were conducted from 1995 to 2010 in Korea. The review focused on four questions. What were the research variables which were treated as relevant to children's responses? Which research methods were administered to collect children's responses? What response-styles of children according to Sipe's framework(2008) were analysed? Were there any relationships between the research methods and the response styles of children? The results of this review were as follows: 1) The research variables most frequently conducted as relevant to the children's responses to picture books were the ‘text’. 2) The research method most frequently applied to collect children's responses were the ‘unconstructed situation’. The next were the ‘constructed situation’ and the last were the ‘mixed(combined with unconstructed and constructed) situation’. 3) The most frequently reanalysed children's response-styles was the ‘analytical responses’. The second was the ‘personal responses’, the third was the ‘transparent responses’, the forth was the ‘inter-textual responses’ and the fifth was the ‘performative responses’. 4) The response styles of children varied with the research methods; in case of the ‘unconstructed situation’, almost of the Sipe's five response styles were found, and in cases of the ‘constructed situation’, the ‘analytical responses’ were the most frequently found, but in case of the ‘mixed situation’, it was difficult to find out any trend. because the number of relevant researches were not enough.
