그림책을 활용한 유아다문화 교육 관련 연구 동향 분석

Analysis of Multicultural Picture Book for Young Children

본 연구의 목적은 그림책을 활용한 유아다문화 교육과 관련된 연구의 동향 분석을 통해 그림책을 활용하는 유아다문화 교육의 발전방안 마련을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는 것이다. 분석 대상은 2011년 2월까지 발표된 학위논문과 학술지에 수록된 논문들로 연구의 편수, 연구주제, 연구방법(연구유형, 연구대상, 자료수집방법)으로 나누어 분석하였다. 분석결과 그림책을 활용한 유아다문화 교육과 관련된 연구가 2008년 이후 급증한 것으로 나타났다. 연구주제 분석결과 교수방법 관련 유아다문화 교육 연구가 가장 많이 이루어졌으며 연구방법은 실험연구가 가장 많이 이루어진 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 연구대상은 유아를 대상으로 하는 연구가 가장 많았으며 자료 수집방법으로는 검사법이 가장 많이 사용된 것으로 나타났다. 또한 그림책 분석 결과 우리나라 다문화가정의 다수를 이루는 조선족, 중국, 베트남, 필리핀, 태국의 문화와 관련된 그림책이 거의 없어 후속적으로 개발될 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was to review prior research on multicultural education using storybooks for young children. Specifically, this paper critically analyzed academic journal articles, MA and doctoral dissertations published up to February, 2011, focusing on research topics and methods. The results show that the number of research has sharply increased since 2008, and the most popular research topic was teaching techniques for utilizing storybooks for multicultural education. In addition, the majority of prior research employed experimental research designs. The most popular research participants were young children, and survey was the most frequently employed data collection method. Finally, the results of this study indicate that more efforts should be made to develop information storybooks on Korean-Chinese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Thai cultures since the foreign members of most Korean multicultural families are from these countries. It is hoped that the findings of the study serve as a basis for future studies of multicultural education using storybooks.
