<바리공주>의 유아용 개작 작품 특성 연구

A Study on Rewriting in <Barigongju> for Young Children

본고는 현재 출간된 무속신화 <바리공주>의 유아용 개작 작품들을 대상으로, 원전이 갖고 있는 작품 요인과 연령에 따른 독서 발달 단계를 중심으로 한 독자 요인을 함께 고려하여, 구체적인 개작 기준을 설정하기 위한 계기를 마련하는 데 그 목적을 두었다. 원전의 주제는 ‘무조신의 유래’이나, 유아용 개작 작품은 유아가 이해하기 쉬운 주제인 ‘효’로 변형하기도 하고 유아가 받아들이기 어려운 ‘무조신’을 단순화하여 일반적인 ‘신’으로 표현하기도 한다. 서사 구조는 주인공의 단선적인 행적만을 따라가는 간결한 전개로 이루어지지만, 작품마다 강조하는 부분이 다르게 나타난다. 문체에서는 리듬감과 내용의 강조를 위해 다양한 반복을 사용하며, 구어적인 종결체가 주로 나타나서 작품과 독자의 거리감을 좁혀주는 효과를 낸다. 하지만 대상 연령대를 유아용으로 제시한 작품임에도 이와 같은 유아용 작품의 특성이 보이지 않는 사례도 보인다. 이는 유아의 연령대별 개작 기준이 명확하지 않는 데에서 기인한다. 일반적이고도 명확한 연령대별 개작 기준을 만들고, 이에 따라 개별 작품들의 대상 연령을 제시하는 일이 필요하다.

This research analyzes the characteristics of rewritings for children titled <Barigongju>. The rewritings need to mapping out a concrete standard for young children by considering the concept of original text and reader’s aging status. Each <Barigongju> approaches the children story from the different viewpoints. One changes the theme to filial piety which is more accessible issue for the children. Others present the universal God instead of Mujoshin(God of shaman) in the original text. The narrative structure is simple which focuses on main character’s single-tracking achievement. The one of the characteristics in style is repetition for emphasizing some of content and creating the rhythm. Moreover, the colloquial style creates the close feeling between readers and texts. However, one of the rewritings does not reveal the characteristics for young children. Because the rewriting is not clear the standard by age group. In short, to clarify the rewriting need the concrete criterion by age group. Furthermore, suggesting the target age standard of general books based on clear evidence is requested.
