그림책으로 하는 유아 생태교육 프로그램의 개발 및 실시에 관한 연구: 지니 베이커의 그림책을 중심으로

The Development and Practical Application of a Ecological Education Program for Young Children: Using Jeannie Baker's Picture Books

본 연구의 목적은 문학을 활용하는 유아 생태교육 프로그램 개발의 필요성에 따라 지구의 생태계와 관련된 주제와 내용으로 창작된 지니 베이커의 그림책을 중심으로 관련 주제의 다양한 그림책을 활용하여 유아의 생태적 감수성 및 문학적 능력을 향상시키기 위한 생태교육 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 첫째, 유아기 생태․환경교육, 생태문학, 문학교육 등과 관련된 다양한 선행연구 및 문헌에서의 제안과 이론을 고려하여 그림책으로 하는 유아기 생태교육 프로그램의 목표를 설정하였다. 둘째, 설정된 프로그램의 목표에 따라 다양한 문학작품에 표현된 지구의 생태에 관한 내용을 명확히 이해하고 이를 근거로 적절한 문학작품을 선정하여 프로그램의 내용을 구성하였다. 셋째, 문학교육의 교수-학습 방법에 근거하여 문학단원 교수법으로 하는 교수-학습 체계를 구성하였다. 넷째, 프로그램의 목표에 따른 효과를 질문지를 사용하여 검증하였다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 개발된 그림책으로 하는 유아 생태교육 프로그램은 유아의 생태적 감수성을 향상시키기 위한 효과적인 유아대상 프로그램의 개발 및 실시의 과정에서 광범위하고 유용하게 활용할 수 있는 구체적이고도 실질적인 자료가 될 것이다.

An ecological education program for young children was developed, applied in a practical early childhood education setting, and evaluated. The program was designed using Jeannie Baker's picture books with the themes of earth's nature and ecological environment to improve children's ecological sensibility and literature ability. The purpose of the program established on the basis of various theories and researches in the field of early childhood ecological and environmental education, ecological literature, and literature education. The contents of this program were developed by analyzing and categorizing Jeannie Baker's picture books and various other picture books with similar themes. The teaching-learning method of the program designed by unit-based literature education teaching-learning method. And the program was evaluated according to the purpose of this program through survey. Through evaluation the children who participated in this program showed a positive recognition of and attitudes towards the earth ecology and an improvement of literature abilities. It was concluded that this program can be applied usefully in the development of and application to various ecological education programs for young children.
