그림책 읽기에서 나타난 그림책, 영아, 어머니의 삼자간 의사소통

Infant-Picture Book-Mother, Triadic Communication in Reading Picture Book

본 연구는 영아와 어머니의 의사소통을 매개하는 그림책의 매체적 특성이 이들 간의 상호작용에 차이를 가져올 수 있음을 설명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 따라서 색깔이라는 동일한 주제를 다루지만 글과 그림의 형식에는 차이가 있는 영아용 그림책 5권을 도구로 하여 24개월(범위: 19-30개월)을 전후한 영아와 어머니 66쌍의 그림책 읽기 상호작용을 비디오로 녹화하여 분석하였다. 영아와 어머니의 상호작용은 언어적 의사소통전략의 사용과 비언어적 의사소통의 사용으로 구분하여 측정하였다. 연구결과, 그림책의 종류에 따라 어머니가 사용하는 책 읽기 전략적 의사소통뿐만이 아니라 영아의 의사소통반응에 유의한 차이가 있음이 발견되었다. 즉, 그림책의 글과 그림이 가지는 형식이 영아와 어머니가 그 형식에 적합하게 의사소통 방식을 바꾸어 나감을 알 수 있었다. 논의에서는 그림책의 종류에 따라 두드러지게 나타나는 의사소통방식이 무엇인가를 정리하였으며, 영아와 어머니간의 의사소통에 있어서도 맥락의 중요성이 강조되어야 함을 논의하였다.

This study aimed to explain the effect of materials on infant-mother communication. The materials of the study are 5 picture books which are made by different formats and styles of illustration and text but treat equally on color concepts. Sixty-six pairs of infant(M=24 months, Range=19-30 months) and mothers involved in shared reading picture books. Their verbal and nonverbal communication strategies were videotaped and were scored in the coding system of this study. about verbal and nonverbal communication strategies between infant and mother. The results showed that infant-mother communication styles are significantly different according to the kinds of picture book. That is, infant and mother made an alteration on their communication strategies for the each book. The discussion explained the distinctive traits of communication in detail, and emphasized the importance of taking the contextual effects into accounts about infant-mother communication.
