유아교사의 그림책 선정과 지도방법에 관한 연구

A Study of Teaching and Selecting a Picture Book by Teachers of Early Childhood Education

본 연구는 유치원과 어린이집에 근무하는 교사들을 대상으로 그림책 선정과 지도방법의 실제를 질적인 방법으로 조사하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 그림책에 대한 교사 자신의 이전경험이 교수실제에 반영되고 있었다. 둘째, 교사들은 그림책에 대한 문학적․예술적인 가치를 평가하는 능력이 부족하였다. 셋째, 그림책 선정은 주제와 관련된 그림책을 중심으로 교사의 주관적인 판단에 의해 이루어지고 있었다. 넷째, 그림책 읽어주기 방식은 상황에 따라 경험적 방법과 분석적 방법을 활용하고 있었다. 다섯째, 교사들은 그림책을 통한 정서발달, 인지발달, 언어발달과 기본생활습관 형성을 강조하면서, 주의집중을 유도하는 데도 유용하게 활용하고 있었다. 여섯째, 그림책 지도에서 어려운 점으로는 주제별로 질적으로 우수한 그림책이 그 종류와 수량에 있어서 부족한 것으로 나타났다.

This study using a qualitative method researched the instructional practices of picture books by teachers working at kindergartens and day care centers. The result of the instructional practices is as follows: First, previous experience of the picture books by the teachers was involved in the instructional practices. Second, the teachers had the lack of appreciating the value of the picture books related to literature and arts. Third, the selection of the picture books focused on themes was made by subjective decision of the teachers. Fourth, the ways of reading the picture books depending on situations were associated with an experienced method and an analytical. Fifth, the teachers used the picture books to develop concentration, emotion, cognition, use of language, and behaviors required for living. Sixth, the difficulties of instruction of the picture books related to theme were shown as shortage of quantity of the books and variety.
