그림책을 활용한 문화간 이해교육 사례 연구: 국제결혼가정의 아동을 중심으로

A Case Study on Cross-Cultural Awareness Activities using Picturebooks for Children of International Marriage Families

본 연구는 그림책을 활용해 베트남, 콩고, 엘살바도르 국제결혼가정의 아동 세 명을 대상으로 문화간 이해 교육 활동의 적용 사례를 살펴본 것이었다. 본 활동은 여름방학기간을 활용해 총 8회기에 걸쳐 이루어졌으며, 적용 효과는 활동 과정 중에 보여준 아동들의 언어적 반응을 관찰하여 네 범주, 즉 ‘우리는 다르지만 같아요’, ‘자랑하고 싶었어요’, ‘두 개의 이름, 두 개의 문화’, ‘우리는 다양한 경험을 가졌어요’로 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 탐색적 성격의 연구로 추후 보다 체계적이고 다양한 유형의 활동이 개발될 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the influences of cross-cultural awareness activities using picturebooks on children of international marriage families. The subjects were 3 children, whose mother came from Vietnam, Congo, and El Salvador. The activities were conducted 8 sessions during summer vacation. The data were collected by observing children's verbal responses during activities, and analyzed according to four different categories, "We are different but same", "I wanted to pride myself on my mothers' country", "a couple of names, a couple of cultures", and "We have various backgrounds".
