Sandler의 그림읽기 절차에 따라 풍속화를 활용한 과학교육이 유아의 과학적 능력에 미치는 효과

Effects of Science Education Using Genre Pictures in the Sandler’s Picture-reading Process

본 연구는 Sandler의 그림읽기 절차에 따라 풍속화를 활용한 과학교육이 유아의 과학적 태도, 과학적 탐구능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 과학적 맥락이 있는 풍속화를 선정하여, 그림읽기 절차에 따라 과학활동을 전개하고 그 효과를 검증하였다. 연구대상은 I시 S유치원 만 5세 2학급을 선정하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 프로그램을 이용하여 공변량 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, Sandler의 그림읽기 절차에 따라 풍속화를 활용한 과학교육이 유아의 과학적 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, Sandler의 그림읽기 절차에 따라 풍속화를 활용한 과학교육이 유아의 과학적 탐구능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 유아 과학활동을 위한 효과적인 교수-학습 방법으로 Sandler의 그림읽기 절차를 통한 풍속화 활동의 적용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

This work was intended to investigate how childhood science education genre pictures in Sandler's picture-reading process affects young children's scientific attitudes and scientific inquiry competences. To do that, this researcher chose the genre pictures that have the scientific context, conducted scientific activities according to Sandler's picture-reading procedures, and examined its effects. As study subjects, two classes with young children's aged five years in S kindergarten in the city of I were chosen. Based on the collected data analysis of Covariance(ANCOVA) was conducted with the use of SPSS program. The study results are presented as follows: first, the science education using genre pictures in Sandler's picture-reading process positively affected young children's scientific attitudes; secondly, the science education using genre pictures in Sandler's picture-reading process positively affected young children's scientific inquiry competencies. The results showed the applicability of genre pictures using picturereading procedures as an effective teaching-learning method for the scientific activities of young children.
