다문화 아동의 한국어 사용수준이 학교적응 및 자아존중감에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Korean Language Skills on School Adjustment and the Self-Esteem of Multicultural Children

본 연구의 목적은 다문화 아동의 한국어 사용수준이 학교적응과 자아존중감에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보고자 함에 있다. 연구대상은 대구․경북에 거주하는 다문화 아동 80명이 참가하였다. 본 연구를 위해 설문조사를 실시하여 최종적으로 68명의 설문지를 분석하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하였으며, 분석방법으로는 빈도와 백분율, Cronbach's a 계수, 그리고 t-test, Pearson 상관분석과 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 다문화 아동은 성별에 따라 학교적응의 하위변인 중 교사와의 관계에서 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 둘째, 다문화 아동의 한국어 사용수준은 학교적응의 하위변인 중 친구와의 관계와 자아존중감에 의미있는 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다문화 아동의 한국어 사용수준이 높을수록 학교적응의 하위변인 중 친구와의 관계와 자아존중감에 높은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과에서 다문화 아동의 한국어 수준이 학교적응과 자아존중감에 영향을 미치므로 다문화 아동의 한국어 수준향상을 위한 다양한 방안과 대안을 모색해야 하는 시사점을 제공해 준다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Korean language skills on school adjustment and the self-esteem of multicultural children. The Subjects of this study were 68 multicultural children. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical regression by SPSS program(18.0 version). The major findings of this study were as follows: First, there were significant differences depending on the gender and the relationship of the teacher and the school adjustment of the sub-variables of multicultural children. Second, there were significant differences among multicultural children's Korean language skills, school adjustment and self-esteem. Finally, multicultural children's Korean language skills affected school adjustment in the sub-variables of relationships with peers and teachers.
