그림책『행복한 우리가족』에 나타난 현대 어머니상 탐구

Analysis of Modern Mother Images represented in a Picture Book『Our Happy Family』

본 연구의 목적은 그림책『행복한 우리가족』에 나타나는 현대 어머니상을 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한성옥의 그림책『행복한 우리가족』을 분석대상으로 선정하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 현대의 어머니상은 크게 가정의 주도권을 쥔 어머니, 사회의 변화에만 약삭빠르게 대응하는 어머니, 가족 이기주의를 근간으로 체면과 타인의식을 무시하는 어머니, 규범과 규칙을 벗어나 아전인수(我田引水)격인 어머니 등의 네 가지 유형으로 분류해 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 각 유형별 어머니상에 대해 보다 구체적으로 살펴보면서 시대적, 사회적 변화의 와중에서도 본질적으로 변하지 않는 어머니 상의 측면은 무엇인지, 향후 어머니상은 어떻게 전개되어 나갈 것인지, 어머니상의 변화에 따라 부모교육 특히, 어머니 교육이 실시되어야 할 필요성은 어디에 있는지 등에 관해 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to explore mother images of modern times. For this purpose, this study selected and analyzed a picture book by Han, Seong-Ok titled 『Our Happy Family』. From the results of the analysis, this study found four main images of modern mothers as follows, or 'a mother who has hegemony in her family', 'a mother who alertly responds to social changes only', 'a mother who ignores face and others based on family egoism' and ‘a mother who is self-centered without abiding by the rules and norms'. Based on this finding, this study focused on each of the images, and explored the following questions. Which aspect of the mother images is not fundamentally influenced by periodic and social changes, how will mother images develop in the future and why is parent education, especially mothers' education, becoming more necessary as mother images are changed.
