스토리텔링을 활용한 수학활동의 효과

The Effects of Mathematics Through Storytelling

본 연구는 스토리텔링을 활용한 수학활동이 유아의 수학적 문제해결력, 사고력, 언어 이해력 및 표현력, 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 창원시에 위치한 어린이집 34명의 5세 유아를 대상으로 15회에 걸쳐 스토리텔링을 활용한 수학활동에 대한 실험연구를 실시하였으며, 실험집단과 비교집단은 각 17명씩이었다. 연구결과 실험집단의 수학적 문제해결력, 사고력, 언어이해력 및 표현력, 수학적 태도에 긍정적인 변화가 관찰되었으며, 이로써 스토리텔링을 활용한 수학활동이 유의미한 효과가 있음을 추론할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of mathematics through storytelling on mathematical problem-solving skills, thinking ability, linguistic comprehension, expression ability, and mathematical attitudes. The subjects in this study were 34 5-year-old preschoolers in a child-care center located in the city of Chang-Won. The experimental group experienced mathematics through storytelling 15 times during eight weeks. As a result, the experimental group exhibited positive changes in mathematical problem-solving skills, thinking ability, linguistic comprehension, expression ability, and mathematical attitudes.
