그림책을 활용한 독서코칭이 유아의 독서환경, 의사소통능력, 의사소통태도에 미치는 효과

Effect of Reading Coaching using Picture Books on Reading Environment, Communication Skills and Communication Attitude with Preschool Children

본 연구에서는 유아교육기관에 그림책을 활용한 독서코칭을 적용함으로써 유아의 독서환경, 의사소통능력, 의사소통태도에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 유치원에 다니는 만 5세 44명을 선정하였으며 실험집단 22명, 통제집단 22명으로 무선 배정하였다. 연구방법으로는 실험집단과 통제집단의 사전검사를 한 후 실험집단에는 주 1회 40분씩 그림책을 활용한 독서코칭을 15주에 걸쳐실시하였으며, 통제집단은 일반적인 그림책 활동에 의한 수업이 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 결과, 그림책을 활용한 독서코칭을 실행한 실험집단은 프로그램 전에 비하여 독서환경, 의사소통능력, 의사소통태도가 유의하게 향상되었다. 따라서 그림책을 활용한 독서코칭은 유아교육기관과 교사에게 독서교육방법의 하나로서 의미 있는 활동으로 기대된다.

This research was written in order to evaluate children's reading environment, communication skills and communication attitude by application of reading coaching using picture books. The subjects of this study were 44 5-year-old children. 22 children were assigned to the experimental group and the others were assigned to the control group randomly. For the experimental group, reading coaching using picture books was conducted 15 times for 15 weeks, while the comparison group had no special instruction. The results were as follows: it was found that the Reading Coaching using Picture Books centered fairy tales had a positive effect on the improvement of children's reading environment, communication skills and communication attitude. Therefore reading coaching using picture books is expected to be a very meaningful activity for both childhood education centers and teachers as one of the desirable methods for children’s reading education.
