타샤 튜더의 그림책을 활용한 유아의 행복감 향상 프로그램의 구성 및 적용 효과

The Development and Practical Application of a Literature Program for the Improvement of Young Children's Happiness: Using Tasha Tudor's Picture Books

본 연구는 그림책을 활용하여 유아의 행복감을 향상시키기 위한 프로그램을 구성하고 영유아교육현장에 적용한 후 그 효과를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 유아의 행복감을 향상시키기 위해 활용하기에 적절한 타샤 튜더의 그림책을 활용하여 유아의 행복감 향상 프로그램을 구성하였다. 먼저 본 연구에서는 유아의 행복, 유아문학교육, 그림책과 행복감 등과 관련된 포괄적인 문헌고찰을 통해 유아의 행복감을 향상시키기 위한 프로그램의 목표를 설정하였고, 설정된 목표에 따라 미국의 그림책 작가인 타샤 튜더의 삶과 작품세계 및 다양한 타샤 튜더의 그림책에 표현된 행복에 관한 내용을 분석하고 이를 근거로 적절한 그림책을 선정하여 프로그램의 내용을 구성하였다. 그리고 그림책을 활용하여 개발·실시된 유아기 학습자를 위한 다양한 프로그램 고찰을 통하여 본 연구의 유아의 행복감 향상을 위한 프로그램의 교수-학습 체계를 구성하였다. 다음으로는 구성한 프로그램을 서울시에 위치한 어린이집 만 4세 반에 재원 중인 유아들을 대상으로 6주간에 걸쳐 적용한 후 유아의 행복감에 미치는 효과를 측정하였다. 프로그램 실시 전·후에 유아의 행복감의 변화를 질문지를 사용하여 조사한 후 분석한 결과 타샤 튜더의 그림책을 활용한 유아의 행복감 향상 프로그램은 만 4세 반유아의 행복감 전체와 행복감 측정도구의 모든 하위요인들과 관련된 행복감을 향상시키는데 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이러한 결과는 유아의 행복감 향상을 위한 프로그램 개발 및 영유아교육기관 적용과 관련되어 논의되었다.

A literature program to improve young children's happiness was developed, applied in a practical early childhood education setting, and evaluated. The program was designed using Tasha Tudor's picture books to improve children's happiness. The purpose of the program was based on various theories and research in the field of young children's happiness and literature education using picture books. The content of this program was developed by analyzing and categorizing Tasha Tudor's life and her picture books with 'happiness' themes. The teaching-learning method of the program was designed using the unit-based literature education teaching-method with various kinds of activities. And the program was evaluated according to the purpose of this program through survey. The children who participated in this program showed improvement in happiness. It was concluded that this program can be applied usefully in the development of and application to various literature programs for the improvement of young children's happiness.
