농촌지역 노인의 문화예술교육 욕구 : 맥클러스키의 노인 학습욕구이론을 중심으로

Arts and Culture Education Needs of Elderly in Rural Areas: Focusing on McClusky's Theory of Adult Learning Needs

본 연구는 맥클러스키의 노인 학습욕구 이론에 기반하여 소외지역에 거주하는 노인의 무용교육에서 문화예술교육에 관한 경험에 대해 어떠한 노인의 학습욕구를 반영해야 할 것인지 살펴보는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 농촌 소외지역인 공주시 탄천면에 조성된 ‘마을예술놀이터’에서 진행되는 무용교육 프로그램의 참여자 노인 7명을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 대처 욕구에는 농촌사회환경, 노화에 의한 기능 회복, 잉여 에너지 분출, 문화예술교육의 환경의 욕구가 둘째, 표현욕구는 심신의 조화를 위한 참여, 공연ㆍ대회 참가, 심미적 표현의 욕구가 나타났으며 셋째, 공헌 욕구에서는 공동체로서 호혜성, 아이들에게 지식 전달, 디지털 기술 학습의 욕구가 확인되었다. 문화예술교육서의 무용교육은 기능적 차원의 교육에서 벗어나 평생교육의 시각에서 공동체적 삶 속에 이해와 성장을 도모해야 한다. 또한 지역과 노인의 특성을 고려한 차별화된 프로그램을 개발ㆍ적용함에 있어 먼저 학습자의 요구를 반영할 필요성이 있다. 이는 이에 노인의 문화예술교육 참여는 수혜자가 아닌 향유자적 관점으로 주체적, 능동적인 문화예술교육으로 전개되어야 함을 시사하는 것이다.

This study aims to explore which learning needs of the elderly should be reflected in arts and cultural arts education of dance for marginalized rural elderly, based on McClusky's theory of adult learning needs. Specifically, it examines the experiences of elderly participants in such educational programs. For this study, in-depth interviews were conducted with seven elderly participants of a dance education program held at the 'Village Art Playground' in Tancheon-myeon, Gongju City, a marginalized rural area. The analysis revealed three main findings: First, coping needs included desires related to the rural social environment, recovery of functions due to aging, the release of surplus energy, and the enhancement of the cultural and artistic education environment. Second, expression needs encompassed participation for the harmony of body and mind, involvement in performances and competitions, and the desire for aesthetic expression. Third, contribution needs were identified, including reciprocity within the community, the transmission of knowledge to children, and the desire to learn digital technologies. Arts and cultural education of dance should transcend a functional level of education and promote understanding and growth within communal life from the perspective of lifelong learning. Furthermore, when developing and applying differentiated programs that consider the characteristics of the region and the elderly, it is essential to first reflect the needs of the learners.
