다문화 교육 수업을 통한 예비유아교사의 문화적 역량 변화 양상

Changes in Cultural Competence of Pre-service Early Childhood Teacher in the Multicultural Education Course

본 연구는 예비유아교사를 위한 다문화 교육 수업에서 나타난 문화적 역량의 변화 양상을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 3년제 유아교육과에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 58명이 다문화 교육수업에 참여하였다. 반성적 저널을 비롯하여 다양한 수업 활동 결과물들을 바탕으로 질적분석을 하였다. 분석 결과, 다문화 교육 수업에서 예비유아교사들은 문화적 지식, 문화적 기술, 문화적 태도에서 다양한 변화들이 나타났으며, 문화적 무능력 단계에서 문화적 전 역량 단계로의 발달 양상을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과들을 중심으로 하여 예비유아교사를 위한 다문화 교육의 내용 및 교수학습 방법에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

The aim of this study was to explore the forming process and changing aspect of the cultural competence of pre-service early childhood teachers in the multicultural education course. In order to complete the purpose of the current study, 58 pre-service early childhood teachers participated. The participants were engaged in the course designed by the researchers. The course consisted of fifteen weeks. With reflective journal writing, various data from classroom activities were collected and analysed. According to the findings, there were various changes in cultural knowledge, cultural skill, and cultural attitude. In other words, the cultural capacity of the pre-service teachers in the current study was improved in Cultural Incapacity/Blindness to Cultural Pre-Competence. Based on the findings, implications and suggestions for further studies are discussed.
