신화적 그림책「바리공주」에 나타난 샤머니즘적 양상 고찰

A Study on Shamanistic Aspects Found in Mythical Picture Books -Focusing on a mythical picture book, 「Princess Bari」-

본 연구의 목적은 신화그림책에 나타난 샤머니즘적 양상을 고찰해 보는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 본 연구에서는 우리민족의 전통적 설화인 바리공주에 관한 이야기를 담고 있는 신화그림책『바리공주』를 선정하여 그 속에 내포된 샤머니즘적 양상들을 분석해 보았다. 연구결과, 신화그림책『바리공주』에서 발견되는 샤머니즘적 양상을 크게 ‘현세와 내세의 동시적 관장: 이승과 저승을 좌우하는 힘’, ‘현세와 내세 사이의 가교역할: 접속을 통한 융화’, ‘음양의 조화로운 질서회복: 균형을 통한 화합’, ‘고통의 치유와 영혼의 구원: 해원을 통한 이상실현’ 등 네 가지로 분류해 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구에서는 신화그림책에 나타난 샤머니즘적 양상들이 유아와 관련하여 지닐 수 있는 의미를 논의해 보았다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate shamanistic aspects found in mythical picture books. For this study, the authors selected a mythical picture book, 『Princess Bari』that provides a story about Bari which is one of our traditional narratives/ Then the study analyzed shamanistic aspects depicted in that picture book. As a result, this study could classify such aspects found in 『Princess Bari』into four, or ‘simultaneous control over this world and the next’, ‘bridging between this world and the next’, ‘restoring the harmony and order of Yin and Yang’and ‘healing the pain and relieving the soul’. Based on these findings, finally, this study discussed implications that those four aspects of shamanism can have for young children.
