유아생활지도 교과목에서의 문제중심학습(PBL)의 적용 효과

The Effects of PBL Application on Lifestyle Guidance for Young Children

본 연구는 유아생활지도 과목에 PBL을 적용해보고 이의 학습효과를 살펴봄으로써 PBL의 적용가능성을 모색해보고자 하였다. PBL은 전라도에 소재한 K대학 아동학과 3학년 23명(남학생 3명, 여학생 20명)을 대상으로 ‘유아생활지도’ 시간 중 총 7주로 진행되었다. 첫 주는 오리엔테이션, 2-4주는 모듈 1(기본생활습관 문제), 5-7주는 모듈 2(사회 정서적 문제)로 이루어졌다. 분석을 위한 자료로는 성찰저널과 학습만족도 평가, 팀 내 동료, 개별면담, 교수일지가 사용되었고, 이를 강인애(1997)가 제안한 PBL 학습목표에 근거하고 개방적 코딩방식에 의거하여 학습내용면과 학습태도 면으로 나누어 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 학생들은 전문적 지식과 문제해결 능력이 신장되었으며 특히 유아 생활지도의 중요성을 깨닫게 됨으로써 교사가 된 이후에도 PBL을 통해 배운 지식이나 적극적 교사의 태도를 적용하겠다는 실천의지를 보여주었다. 둘째, 학생들은 무엇보다도 처음에 어렵고 자신없어하던 모습에서 점차 자신감을 갖게 되었고, 자율적이고 적극적인 학습활동을 하였으며, 어려움 속에서 협력해 가려는 태도를 보여주었다. 결론적으로 PBL은 학습의 내용면이나 태도 면에서 모두 효과적이었음을 알 수 있었다.

The aim of this study was to find out the applicable possibility of PBL by applying PBL and looking for educational effects of PBL to the course of lifestyle guidance for young children. Twenty-three third grade students(3 men and 20 women) listening to the course in 'lifestyle guidance for young children' in K university in jeonbuk area participated for 7 weeks(first week for orientation, weeks 2-4 for module 1, and weeks 5-7 for module 2). To analyse the educational effects of PBL while conducting PBL activities, reflection journals, learning satisfaction scales, team member evaluations, individual interviews, and teacher's journals were collected. The final results were as follows: first, students leaned professional knowledge, problem solving methods, and showed the intention that they would apply the knowledge and the methods used during this program in the field because they found out the importance of the guidance of young children's activities. Second, students changed their confusion at an early stage into more confident attitudes, and participated in this program more actively by themselves. They also showed collaborative attitudes even in difficulties. In conclusion, PBL was verified as an effective learning method producing educational effects.
