대위법 그림책에 대한 만 4, 5세 유아의 문학적 반응

Responses of Children Ages 4 to 5 to Counterpoint Picture Books

본 연구는 대위법 그림책에 대한 유아의 문학적 반응을 알아보고, 유아의 문학적 반응이 연령에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 만 4, 5세 유아 24명에게 대위법 그림책을 읽어준 후 유아가 보인 문학적 반응을 전사하여 범주별로 분류하였다. 대위법 그림책은 서정숙(2011)이 제시한 6가지 유형의 대위법 그림책 중 만 4, 5세 유아들에게 적합한 4가지 유형[장르, 시점, 사건, 인물 대위법]에 속하는 그림책을 유형별로 각 1권씩 선정하였다. 문학적 반응은 Sipe(2011)가 제시한 범주에 따라 분석적, 상호텍스트적, 개인적, 동화된, 연행적 반응으로 분류하였다. 대위법 그림책에 대한 유아의 문학적 반응은 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 문학적 반응비율은 분석적, 개인적, 연행적, 상호텍스트적, 동화된 반응 순으로 높게 나타났다. 대위법 그림책에 대한 연령별 유아의 문학적 반응의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 인물 대위법을 제외한 그림책 유형 모두에서 만 5세가 만 4세보다 높은 분석적 반응을 나타낸 반면, 개인적 반응은 만 4세가 만 5세보다 높게 나타냈다. 상호텍스트적, 동화된, 연행적 반응은 만 4, 5세 공통적으로 분석적, 개인적 반응에 비해 낮은 반응 비율을 나타냈으나, 연령별로 반응을 높게 보인 순서에서는 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze children’s responses on counterpoint picture books and to examine age differences in responding to the counterpoint picture book reading. Based on the preliminary study results, five counterpoint picture books were selected for each of five category of the counterpoint picture books: utterance, genre, viewpoint, character and incident counterpoint. The researcher read the counterpoint picture books to the children and then all the responses of the children on the counterpoint picture books were transcribed. The transcripts were analyzed with 5 categories of responses by Sipe(2011). Based on the five categories by Sipe(2011), the children's responses were classified into analytical, inter-textual, personalizing, transparent, and performative response. The statistical analysis showed that the children’s responses differed depending on the type of counterpoint picture book. It shows a high percentage in the order of analytical, personalizing, performative, inter-textual, and transparent response. Next, 5-year-old children showed higher analytical responses than that of 4-year-old children for most categories of the counterpoint picture books, except for the character counterpoint picture book. On the other hand, 4-year-old children had a higher ratio in personalizing responses in most categories of the counterpoint picture books, except for the character counterpoint picture book. For an inter-textual, transparent, performative response, 4- and 5-year-old children both show a lower ratio. The ranking is somewhat different for the categories of the counterpoint picture book.
