그림책에 나타난 책의 특징과 책읽기의 의미 내용 분석

An Analysis of the Features and Meanings in Children's Picture Books

본 연구의 목적은 그림책에 나타난 책의 특징과 책읽기의 의미에 관한 내용을 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 책에 관한 내용이 담긴 그림책 총 23권을 선정하였고, 질적 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 그림책에 나타난 책의 특징으로는 동물 주제의 책, 전문 분야의 책 등 다양한 종류의 책이 있으며, 책은 종이로 만들어졌으며 글과 그림 등이 있다는 속성을 가지고 있고, 책에서 보여주는 공간은 환상 세계의 공간과 과거 공간으로 나타났다. 둘째, 그림책에 나타난 책읽기의 의미는 재미있고 행복하기 위해서 그리고 슬픔을 치료하기 위해 책을 읽고, 책을 읽음으로써 지식을 습득하게 되고, 풍부한 책읽기 환경으로 변화된다. 장소적 측면에서 도서관과 그 밖의 다양한 장소에서 책을 볼 수 있으며, 책은 혼자 조용히 읽을 수 있고 다른 사람과 함께 읽을 수 있는 매체로 나타났다. 이를 통해 유아들이 그림책에 나타난 책을 읽음으로써 그림책의 가치와 책읽기의 의미를 알기를 기대한다.

The aim of this research was to analyze the contents, especially the features and meanings, in picture books. This study used 23 picture books, and quantitative design and content analysis were used in this study. The results are presented below: First, the features of the picture books were as follows: there were a variety of books related to animal themes, the attribute of the books had a material like a paper, and the characters of the picture books moved to an imagination space and past space. Second, the meaning of the picture books was as follows: the content analysis showed that the ‘reason’ for reading was related to fun and emotional support; the ‘result’ of reading was related to increasing knowledge and changing to an environment that has plentiful books; the location of reading was at the library and in a variety places, and the ‘method’ of reading was quiet reading and shared reading. Therefore, this study showed the value of reading as well as the meaning of reading in children through picture books.
