동화를 활용한 평화교육활동이 유아의 친사회적 행동 및 갈등해결 능력에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Peace Education Activities Using Fairy Tales on Young Children's Prosocial Behavior and Conflict Resolution

본 연구는 동화를 활용한 평화교활동이 유아의 친사회적 행동 및 갈등해결 능력에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 만 5세 유아 44명(실험집단 22명과 비교집단 22명)을 대상으로 일주일에 한 번 총 11회기의 프로그램을 적용하였다. 5세 누리과정 교사용 지도서에 수록된 동화 중 평화교육의 세 가지 요소인 지식, 기술, 가치 및 태도와 관련된 내용에 따라 적합성 여부를 고려하여 평화관련 동화를 선정한 후 이를 활용하여 실험집단에게는 동화를 활용한 평화교육활동을 전개하였고, 비교집단에게는 생활주제 관련 일상적 활동을 실시하였다. 실험 전·후 수집된 사전, 사후 검사 결과를 알아보기 위하여 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 집단별 평균점수의 증가분에 대하여 쌍체 t 검증을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 동화를 활용한 평화교육활동을 경험한 실험집단이 비교집단보다 전체적인 친사회적 행동 증진에 긍정적인 효과를 나타내었다. 둘째, 동화를 활용한 평화교육활동이 유아의 갈등해결 능력 향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 하위범주인 자기조절하기, 자신과 타인존중하기, 서로 다치게 하지 않기, 함께 놀이하고 생활하기의 점수가 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 교사들의 평화교육에 대한 인식을 비롯하여 관련한 교재·교구 개발 및 활용을 통해 유아평화교육의 분야를 다양하게 전개해 나가야 함을 의미한다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of peace education activities using fairy tales on young children's prosocial behavior and conflict resolution. The subjects of this study were 44 children aged 5 (22 children each for the experimental group and comparison group) who attended a private kindergarten in the Gyeong-Gi-Province. A planned education program using fairy tales was implemented in the experimental group one or twice a week for a total of 11 sessions. The fairy tales were selected by three sub categories of peace education which were areas of knowledge, skills, and values and attitudes in the age 5 Nuri curriculum teachers' guidebooks. For the control group, the ordinary program without peace education was implemented.. For the data analysis, the SPSS 21.0 program was used. The major results of this study are as follows. First, there were significant differences in measuring of young children's prosocial behavior after conducting the peace education activities using fairy tales. Second, the experimental group scored a higher level in conflict resolution after carrying out the activities. Thus, based on the results, it is important to carry out a variety of activities related peace education by developing and using teaching materials related to peace education. The peace education of teachers is also important as well.
