유아그림책 『우리 할아버지』에 나타난 삶과 죽음에 대한 고찰 : 텍스트 기호학을 중심으로

A Study on the Life and Death of “My Grandfather” : Focusing on Text Semiotics

본 연구에서는 텍스트 기호학을 중심으로 『우리 할아버지』를 분석해 봄으로써 이야기에 함의되어 있는 의미를 고찰해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 통시적 관점에서 이야기의 명시적 구조와 등장인물의 기능을, 공시적 관점에서 이야기의 잠재적 구조를 알아보았다. 연구결과 첫째, 통시적 관점에서 이야기의 명시적 구조를 보면, 할아버지의 죽음 그리고 동생의 탄생을 통해 슬픔과 기쁨이 공존하는 삶과 죽음의 순환구조를 이룬다. 둘째, 등장인물의 기능을 보면 손녀는 놀이의 즐거움을 통해 삶을, 할아버지는 시간의 소중함을 통해 죽음을 이야기하고 있다. 셋째, 공시적 관점에서 이야기의 잠재적 구조를 보면, 이야기는 손녀와 할아버지를 대비시켜 삶과 죽음에 대한 의미를 보여준다. 손녀와 할아버지는 삶과 죽음에 대한 자연의 순리와 법칙에 대해 이야기한다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the meaning implied in the story “my grandfather", focusing on text semiotics. For this purpose, we analyzed the explicit structure of the story and the function of characters from the diachronic perspective and potential structure of the story from the synchronic perspective. First, when we look at the explicit structure of the story from the diachronic perspective, the story shows a circulating structure of life and death. Second, as for the characters, the granddaughter talks about life through the pleasure of play, and grandfather talks about death through the preciousness of time. Third, when we look at the potential structure of the story from the synchronic perspective, the story shows the meaning of life and death by comparing the granddaughter and grandfather. grandfather and granddaughter talk about the natural laws and the laws of life and death.
