그림책에 나타난 로봇 등장인물 특성 연구

Analysis of Robot’s Characters Portrayed in Picture Books

본 연구는 국내에 출판된 창작그림책 중 로봇이 등장인물로 나타난 그림책들을 대상으로 로봇 등장인물의 특성을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 선행연구를 참고하여 분석 준거를 마련하였으며, 로봇 등장인물의 비중 및 등장배경, 로봇 등장인물의 외적 이미지, 로봇 등장인물의 의인화 방식, 로봇 등장인물과 주변인물과의 관계로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 로봇 등장인물은 로봇이 주된 역할로 등장하는 경우가 많았으며, 등장배경은 로봇을 만드는 곳, 집 등 인간의 생활공간과 동일하게 나타났다. 둘째, 로봇 등장인물의 외적 이미지는 인간과 유사한 형태이거나 장난감 로봇의 형태, 성별은 대부분 남성으로 나타났다. 셋째, 로봇 등장인물의 의인화 방식을 살펴본 결과 인간처럼 말을 하거나 옷을 입는 등 외형적 의인화 방식이 나타났으며 긍정적 감정을 나타내는 경우가 많았다. 마지막으로 로봇 등장인물과 주변인물과의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 로봇 등장인물은 사람, 동물과 가장 많이 관계를 맺고 있었으며, 인간에게 도움을 주거나 위안을 주는 등의 긍정적인 모습으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 현대 그림책에 다양한 모습의 로봇 등장인물을 제시하고 로봇과 인간의 관계를 반영해야함을 시사한다. 또한 성인은 유아에게 그림책을 제시할 때 유아들이 로봇에 대한 현실적인 이미지를 형성할 수 있도록 기여해야 함을 시사한다.

In this study, we analyzed robot characters in picture books. We analyzed the characters of the robots in picture books based on the importance and appearance background of the robot characters, the external images of the robot characters, the personification method of the robot characters, and the relationship between the robot characters and the surrounding characters. The results are as follows: First, robots mostly appeared as the main roles of the robot characters, and the appearance background was the same as the human living space such as the place where robots are made and houses. Second, the external images of the robot characters appeared in the form of humanoids or toy robots and appeared as males. Third, as a result of looking at the way of personifying the character of the robot, the outward form of personification such as talking or dressing like a human appeared and often showed positive emotions. Finally, as a result of examining the relationship between robot characters and surrounding characters, robot characters showed the most positive relationship with human beings and animals. The results of this study suggests that the characters in modern picture books consist of various robots, that they should reflect the positive relationship between robots and humans, and that children should contribute to forming a realistic image of robots when presenting picture books to children.
