그림책 『작은 집 이야기』에 나타난 자연 · 사회 · 인간의 관계 탐색: 펠릭스 가타리의 생태철학을 중심으로

Exploring the Relationship between Nature, Society and Human in the Picturebooks 『The Little House』: Focusing on Felix Guattari’s Ecological Philosophy

본 연구는 현 지구의 생태적 위기 속에서 자연과 인간의 관계 회복에 대한 희망을 보여주는 그림책『작은 집 이야기』를 펠릭스 가타리 생태철학의 관점으로 자연 사회 인간의 관계를 살펴보고자 한다. 1942년 미국에서 출판되어 1993년 국내에서 번역된 버지니아 리 버튼(Virginia Lee Burton)의 그림책『작은 집 이야기』를 분석하여 자연과 사회의 관계, 사회와 인간의 관계, 인간과 자연의 관계에 따른 각각의 하위범주를 도출하였다. 그림책 『작은 집 이야기』에 나타난 자연과 사회의 관계 흐름은 자연의 생명에 순응하는 방식을 ‘지나’, 자연 환경 파괴로 인한 회색 도시화를 ‘넘어’, 종속관계가 해체된 새보금자리 ‘로’ 이어졌다. 사회와 인간의 관계 흐름은 생명가치를 향한 근원적인 희구를 ‘지나’, 사회관계 분열로 인한 인간 가치 공동체 상실을 ‘넘어’, 인간과 사회 간의 색다른 공동체 생성 ‘으로’ 나아갔다. 끝으로, 인간과 자연의 관계 흐름은 유기적이고 순환적인 조화를 ‘지나’, 자연과의 단절로 인한 그리움을 ‘넘어’, 이제 다시 자연과의 만남 ‘으로’ 지속되었다. 이를 토대로 생태적 위기를 극복하기 위해서는 자연 사회 인간의 경계를 허물고 횡단하는 철학적 윤리적 사유와 실천이 이루어져야 하며, 교육현장은 이러한 사유와 실천을 생성할 수 있는 장을 마련해야 할 것이다.

This study examined the relationship between nature, society, and human, from the viewpoint of Felix Guattari`s ecological philosophy, in the picturebook 『The Little House』 which shows hope for the restoration of nature and human relationship in the ecological crisis of the present earth. The picturebook 『The Little House』 by Virginia Lee Burton, translated and published in Korea in 2012, was analyzed to reveal each subcategory according to the relationship between nature and society, between society and human, and between human and society. The flow of the relationship between nature and society in the picturebook 『The Little House』 has passed through the way of adapting to the life of nature, became a gray urbanization due to the destruction of the natural environment, and led to a new nest where the dependency was dismantled. The flow of relations between society and humans has passed through the fundamental diligence toward the value of life; the human value community has been lost due to the division of social relations, and a different community has been created between humans and society. Finally, the flow of the relationship between humans and nature has passed through an organic and cyclical relationship, longing to be disconnected from nature, and now, it has continued to flow back to nature. In order to overcome the ecological crisis based on this, human consciousness and spiritual awakening are required as well as the social institutional field where the subjectivity of the social community can be created, and the ecological movement in the ethical direction recognizing the vitality of nature is needed.
