유아의 협동음악활동이 공감능력과 정서표현성 및 사회지능에 미치는 효과

Effect of Cooperative Music Activities on Empathy Ability, Emotional Expressiveness and Social Intelligence

본 연구는 만 5세 유아를 대상으로 협동음악활동이 공감능력과 정서표현성 및 사회지능에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 비교집단과 실험집단 간 차이를 알아보기 위하여 사전 동질성검사을 실시하였고, 사전검사와 사후검사 간 차이 검증을 위해 일원공변량분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 협동음악활동의 공감능력에 대한 효과를 살펴본 결과, 실험집단의 경우에 전체 공감능력 점수가 사전검사에 비해 사후검사에서 높게 나타났고, 실험집단이 비교집단에 비해 높은 전체 공감능력 점수를 보였고, 통계적으로도 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 둘째, 협동음악활동의 정서표현성에 대한 효과를 살펴본 결과, 실험집단의 경우에 전체 정서표현성 점수가 사전검사에 비해 사후검사에서 높게 나타났고, 실험집단이 비교집단에 비해 전체 정서표현성 점수가 높았으며, 두 집단 간에 통계적으로도 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 셋째, 협동음악활동의사회지능에대한효과를 살펴본결과, 실험집단의 경우에전체사회지능 점수가사전검사보다는 사후검사에서 높았고, 실험집단이 비교집단에 비해 전체 사회지능 점수가 높았으며, 통계적으로유의미하게나타났다. 이러한결과는 유아들의협동음악활동이사회적상호작용을기초로하여 공감능력이나 정서표현성 및 사회지능을 높일 수 있음을 밝히고 이후 유아들이 바랍직한 사회구성원으로 성장하는데 있어 요구되는 전인적 프로그램의 방향성을 제시하는데 의의를 가진다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of cooperative music activities on empathy ability, emotional expressiveness and social intelligence in 40 infants (20 each in the experimental and comparison group). The main results were as follows. First, we examined the effect of cooperative music activities on empathy ability. As a result, the total empathy ability score of the experimental group was higher than that of the pre-test. In addition, the experimental group showed higher total empathy ability scores than those of the comparative group, and statistically significant differences were shown. Second, as a result of examining the effect of cooperative music activities on emotional expressiveness, the emotional expressiveness score of the experimental group was higher in the posttest than in the pre-test, and the experimental group showed a higher emotional expressiveness score than that of the comparative group, and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Third, as a result of examining the effect of social activities on social intelligence, the total social intelligence score in the experimental group was higher in the posttest than in the pre-test, and the experimental group had a higher social intelligence score than that of the comparative group, and statistically significant differences were found. These results suggest that cooperative music activities of young children can be useful for enhancing empathy, emotional expression and social intelligence.
