어머니의 양육태도가 유아 스마트폰 의존성에 미치는 영향 : 유아 놀이성의 조절효과를 중심으로

The Influence of Mothers' Parenting Attitude on Children's Smart-Phone Dependency : Focusing on the moderating effect of Children's playfulness

본 연구는 어머니의 양육태도가 유아 스마트폰 의존성에 미치는 영향에 있어 유아 놀이성의 조절효과를 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 K도 소재 유아교육기관에 재원 중인 만 5세 266명과 그들의 어머니를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 분석은 변인들의 상관관계를 알아보기 위해 Pearson 상관분석을, 어머니의 양육태도가 스마트폰 의존성에 미치는 영향에서 유아 놀이성의 조절효과를 알아 보기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 어머니 양육태도와 유아 스마트폰 의존성간, 유아의 놀이성과 스마트폰 의존성 간에는 유의미한 상관이 나타났으나, 어머니 양육태도와 유아 놀이성 간에는 유의미한 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 유아의 놀이성은 어머니의 양육태도가 스마트폰 의존성에 미치는 영향에서 조절효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났는데, 놀이성의 하위변인인 사회적 자발성과 신체적 자발성의 영향력이 확인되었다. 특히 어머니의 양육태도가 거부적일수록 유아의 사회적 자발성이 높은 집단에서 스마트폰 의존성이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 유아 스마트폰 의존성이 사회문제가 되고 있는 시점에서 관련 부모변인과 유아변인에 관한 기초자료를 제공하고 이를 토대로 부모의 올바른 양육태도 확립의 필요성과 유아 놀이성 함양의 중요성을 밝혔다는데 그 의의를 가진다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderating effects of children’s play behavior on the influence of mothers’ parenting attitude on the children’s smart-phone dependency. To this end, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 266 children aged 5 years (149 boys and 117 girls) and their mothers who were in early childhood education facilities in G city. The results of this study were as follows. First, Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to investigate the relationship between mothers’ parenting attitude, smart-phone dependency and children’s play behavior, and to determine the effect of parenting attitude on smart-phone dependency, we conducted a hierarchical regression analysis. First, there was a significant correlation between mothers’ parenting attitude and children’s smart-phone dependency, children’s playfulness and smart-phone dependency, but there was no significant correlation between parenting attitude and children’s playfulness. Second, the children’s playfulness showed a moderating effect on the influence of the mothers’ parenting attitude on smart-phone dependency. The subordinate variables of playfulness, social spontaneity and physical spontaneity, were confirmed. Especially, the more rejected the mothers’ parenting attitude was, the lower the smart-phone dependency was in the group with high social spontaneity of children. The results of this study were as follows. First, we provide basic data on related parent variables and children variables at the time when the dependence of children on smart-phones is becoming a social issue. Based on the results, we found it necessary and important to establish proper parenting attitudes and to develop children’s playfulness.
