보육교사의 휴게시간에 대한 인식과 개선방안에 대한 이야기

Day Care Teacher's Awareness of Rest Time and How to Improve It

본 연구의 목적은 2018년 7월부터 시행된 보육교사의 휴게시간에 대한 인식과 보육현장의 실정에 맞는 효율적인 휴게시간 운영을 위한 보육교사의 개선방안을 알아보고, 보육교사의 휴게시간이 어린이집의 근무여건과 함께 바람직한 방향으로 자리 잡는 데 필요한 길잡이를 제공하는 것이다. 현재 D광역시의 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 10명의 교사가 연구참여자로 참여하였으며, 2018년 7월 30일부터 2018년 12월 30일까지 22주간, 2차에 거쳐 개별면담을 실시하고 연구참여자 및 연구자의 저널을 수집하여 분석하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석한 결과, 보육교사의 휴게시간에 대한 인식 영역에서는 새롭게 시작되는 오후 / 외출의 자유 / 소소한 행복 / 휴게중의 심리적 불안 / 외출의 부담감 / 지연되는 업무들로 나타났고, 효율적인 휴게시간을 위한 개선방안 영역의 분석결과는 교사의 입장을 고려한 휴게시간 / 법률의 현실화 / 충분한 인력배치 / 현실에 맞는 보육환경 / 조기퇴근제 도입 / 축소된 업무분담으로 나타났다. 앞으로 보육교사들의 휴게시간에 대한 바람을 반영하는 개선방안들이 마련되어 조속히 시행되기를 바란다.

The aim of this study was to investigate the day care teacher’s experience with rest time that started from July 2018 and their hopes for effective rest time fitting into the child care field, and to provide necessary guidance for rest time to day care teachers in child care centers with other working conditions in positive way. Ten teachers currently working in a child care center in D city were selected as research participants. Individual interviews were conducted in 2 stages from July 30 to December 30, 2018 for 22 weeks. The participant journals were collected and analyzed. As a result of analyzing the collected data, the experiences of day care teachers on rest time were as follows: newly started afternoon; freedom of going out; little happiness; reality of child care field; uncomfortable going out; and delayed work. The teachers’ hopes for rest time were as follows: rest time considering the teacher’s position; realization of the law; sufficient manpower placement; child care environment suitable for reality; introduction of early leaving office; and reduced workload. It is hoped that the improvement measures reflecting the wishes of day care teachers for rest time would be implemented as soon as possible.
