그림책에 나타난 대중목욕탕 공간의 의미

Meaning of the Public Bath in Picture Books

본 연구는 국내 창작 유아 그림책에 나타난 대중목욕탕 공간을 분석하여 의미를 알아보기 위하여 실시되었다. 이를 위하여 대중목욕탕이 등장하는 그림책 5권을 선정하고 질적 내용분석방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 그림책에 나타난 목욕탕 공간은 유아의 놀이욕구를 해소하는 공간, 이웃과 이웃의 경계를 넘어서는 만남의 공간, 현실과 환상을 연결해주는 공간으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 유아가 경험하는 공간 중 하나인 대중목욕탕이 그림책에 어떻게 묘사되어 있는지를 알 수 있었으며 유아들이 목욕탕 공간과 어떠한 관계맺음을 하는지를 알 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 통해 유아가 대중목욕탕 공간을 어떻게 인식하고 유아의 경험과 관련지을 수 있는지 이해하도록 도울 수 있다는 점에서 의미를 갖는다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the public bath space shown in domestic children's picture books and examine its significance. For this purpose, five picture books with public baths were selected and analyzed using a qualitative content analysis method. As a result, the bath space shown in the picture books became a space for children to relax their desire to play, a meeting place across the boundaries of neighbors and neighborhoods, and a space connecting reality and fantasy. With the results of this study, how the public bath, which is one of the spaces experienced by children, is represented in picture books was explained. These study results have implications in that they can be used to help children perceive public bath space to understand how it is associated with their experience.
